When I click onto links on some sites,I keep getting the message....'Runtime error....do you wish to debug yes/no'

If I cick yes...I get a page full of nonsense and nothing happens
If I click no..Nothing happens and I still don't get to see the link that I wanted to see.
It doesn't happen all the time...but it is really doing my crust in!

What caused this to happen in the first place?
Is there anyway I can stop this happening full stop?

Hi, Okay this is generally the result of 2 issues, the first being that internet explorer is using an out of date cached copy of the site you are visiting, you should try Tools > Options and delete your browsing history (Temp Internet Files etc etc), close the browser and rebrowse to the offending page.

The second and more common would be a site error with the scripts is uses, again you can switch off the error altogether..again a visit to tools > options but this time under the advanced tab there are options to disable script debugging. Close and restart IE.

Runtime errors are scripting commands that your computer is not able to handle, possibly from an outdated browser or not having the correct plug-in installed. You could try and update your browser to the latest version.

You might have some spyware, I recommend that you go to http://www.download.com and get AD-AWARE and SpyBot Search & Destory. Install, run, update and scan your computer with both programs.

You are right... none of us know how to bug Microsoft Bugs; so hit NO.

Good luck and Happy Computing!
