I agree with this kid!!I think parents risk destroying their childrens happiness by causing a fuss everytime something is said or happens.
Most parents seem to think that children should act like adults without touching or upsetting each other. This is probably why most children will die young through obesity because there parents are SCARED STIFF of EVERYTHING.
School do a fantastic job of helping to bring up 200-400 children everyday,I don't know of a school which is not actively tryng to promote a message respect and understanding amongst all of their pupils. They are not going to do this by isolating children, but only by encouraging interaction.
Kids stand up for yourselves,do not let your parents ignorant fear bully you into becoming a shut in!

I would say that in a situation where a child is making a mountain out of a mole hill that these parents are not looking at their children honestly and they are not teaching their children to be honest. Unfortunately these situations will occur in life but if there is any bullying going on it must be dealt with firmly and promptly, especially in the lower grade levels. We ALL must keep our ears, minds and senses open to what is going on around us so that we can deal with little problems before they become a headline.
Hopefully the adults who are on scene can help educate those parents that there was no bullying and if those children keep crying wolf eventually they will find they are not being believed. Once their credibility is in doubt they may learn not to do these kinds of things.

I understand ! As a teacher I had the same problem too. It's partly because children use the word to get adults up tight. The thing to realise is that is that for something to be bullying it must happen repeatedly. Eg one child keeps being picked on or the same child keeps picking on someone else (who may change from day).
Words like bullying really get overused and it hides the truth when it really does happen.

Bullying is not the accidental bumping into another person,it isn't the being hit by a ball by mistake(it is having someone deliberately hit you with it) and it is not just being unkind to others. Bullying is the deliberate and intentional abuse of another person via physical and/or emotional abuse. It is the methodical tearing away of another person self worth through relentless taunting , hitting, uncalled for laughter ,exclusion etc. It is not a victimless crime and it's impact may be felt for years. The victim struggles with the anxiety of going to school and knowing it will be another nightmare. The sense of isolation can be unbearable . For those parents who feel it is kids being kids you are wrong. Correctional facilities are filled with people who thought they were tough.

You must go to the only school like that and been very sheltered as most bullying is nothing like that.
Most is very nasty. very deliberate and the ones hurting do it as they like it groing up to be muggers, gang members who beat up grannies and knife or shoot people or glass them.
Or be the ***** backstabbing types you see in offices and realtiy TV.
And its constant... people end up suicidal or snap and shoot up schools...
you have been very lucky and live in some bubble
I geot constantly hit, poked, called paki, hurt, abused constantly as did many others and nowadays kids are threatened with wepons...
except bar you very nice place.

It depends on whether the ball is thrown "by accident, or on purpose".....If it's an accident, then you're right, stuff happens, but diliberate is considered bullying.
