"almost in love" u will excuse me but there is not such a thing either u r or not if u cant tell if u r or not then i think u r not he is friend of ur and ur mayor topic is school...as i tell everyone else be urself i mean u got to be happy with who u r to get to some one else if u fake it then u prsent someone that is not u to them... so are u or r u not..be urself

Take an interest in his love for footie you could ask your brother about him and find out some things since he plays on his team dont just keep talkin about school or you may start to find things boring

dont make it boring..he might get bored if u just talk about school..start talking about other things like hobbies, music, movies, friends, life.. Tell romantic things like how cute, or how you like him.. Show that u care about him..
crack many jokes with him..share your problems, happiness, emotions with him..
but b careful..dont start anything physical yet..not yet..

I think its easier to ask him about his personal life or if your are really desparate and shy tell a friend to do it for you.
