He walks around with it in his mouth.

I forgot to mention it is a sweater material. Also at one point I picked him up to take it out of his mouth because I thought maybe it was caught in his mouth. I will just say he was "happy" so does that go with hunting??

That's very normal...he thinks he's hunted down and killed the belt!

I know, it sounds strange but our male cat has a pair of socks that he does the very same thing with...he LOVES his socks...LOL
He hunts and "Kills" them at least 10 times a day...he then walks around with them in his mouth.
Sometimes he drops them at our feet or in our lap...when he does that we always praise him for his "kill"...LOL
Cats are funny little critters!

My cat does this with a stuffed snake. She will carry it in her mouth and meow loudly as well. Everytime I go out, I come home to find the snake on my bed or at the foot of my bed left there by her as a "gift" to me. She and your cat are basically "hunting".

Sounds like he's an inside cat acting out a fantasy where the belt is his prey.
My cats do that with lizards they find in the yard and bring in as "gifts".

he is acting as if he caught an animal. The sound is them expressing that they have caught something and letting others know. If your belt is made of leather, it explains this for leather comes from an animal. Getting neutered has nothing to do with their hunting instincts.. which is what he is displaying for you.

It's his way of claiming ownership of you. Because he has your belt, which carries your scent, he therefore owns you too! It's a cat's way of being possessive and showing affection. He's meowing to get your attention because he loves you so much :)

Just because you had a cat fixed DOESNT mean they know they were fixed ( to the fact they cant have babies anymore ) so he is still well to say um...sexly active, or theres something about that belt of yours it really likes lol

For some reason he is very attached to it and loves it so much, he voices it. Maybe it's like a security blanket.
