Pugs are great and charming little dogs :) They are usually very sweet, but can be stubborn. Do you know anyone with a pug? If so ask them about their dog. Pugs do have some specific health issues many don't consider, like snoring and grunting, intolerance to hot weather and excessive exercise. I;d recommend purchasing a magazine or book dedicated to the breed and read it from cover to cover before buying so you know what to expect.

Not if you only want to get one because they're in fashion with
people like Paris Hilton. Do some research on the breed - they can have real problems breathing and can have a short life expectancy as they have been bred to have those snub noses.
You won't have a tribe of assistants and minders to look after it or a few thousand a year to pay the vets bills when it can't breath properly.
Ask any vet and they will tell you that any dogs needs someone to be around during the day - they are very unhappy locked in a house all day if you have to work - so please think very carefully and don't just buy one on a whim because they look cute.

I just got a pug 10 days ago. Shes really sweet, They really likes to sleep on your lap. They are stubborn at times, but just teach her the rules and search for obedience training in the internet, It will help you a lot on how to take care of your pug on how to be a good dog. They said they are really hard to train, it really depends. Ive been teaching my pup for 4 days now. She now knows how to seat, stay, come and play fetch. However I can say that they are sensitive dogs, Just dont scream/shout at them. You can have lessons at petsmart or just try to read articles on the internet with puppy training, thats what i do. I really love our pug. At first I was hesitant because they are top shedders. Now I never really regrets having her because of the sweetness and loved that she gave us. Goodluck they are really lovely dogs.

Ok, so you want a cute adorable pug? Well, there is a disadvantage to owning one,
1. They snore - My friend has one, oh how she snores. I guess you get used to the snoring, because my friend is used to it.
2. They snort - I guess you could say that is kinda cute.
3. They begg - The will squeak, whine, and cry. (I was a witness to it.)
These are all things to think about, before purchasing your precious pooch.

I think pugs are adorable, but their potential for numerous health problems has kept me from owning one.
