Don't bother sending him a final email. When he doesn't hear from you again, he'll get the hint that you dropped him.

You're both to blame...nothing concrete was established as far what time he might call, and the fact that he did say, "sorry I missed you" does in some way show some regard... At least his attempts are honest and sincere, but now-a-days, who is? You both need to get your wires crossed together
ONE MORE THING: THERE ARE TWO SIDES TO A COIN. THE ANSWERS YOU GET ARE BASED ONLY ON YOUR STORY...WHAT'S HIS? HE SHOULD BE GIVEN THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT AND ALLOW HIM TO EXPLAIN BEFORE ACTING ON ANY OF OUR ADVICE

Dear Fred,
I have very clear rules about polite behaviour. You stood me up Friday night and have not voluntarily acknowledged that. This strongly indicates you are a player of games, therefore you and I have nothing in common.
I wish you well for your future.
Kind regards,
Jane

tell him I waited for your call on friday night and felt stood up. It would be nice if we remained friends and if ever we both have time in our busy lives we would meet.

Just tell him what your looking for and that he is not the man for you.
Then just explain how you wants things to go on from their i.e. friends, no contact at all etc.

EXACTLY what you said to us. You didn't sound nasty or harsh. You just stated the facts. It's good you realize what you want!

well, don't worry about him, and be yourself, isn't bracing truth better than false hope?
(or don't b yourself and tell him that you have a boyfriend- sometimes b*llsht# work better than any truth...)
