What you have heard is not true. Unfortunately people who don't know anything about Turkiye or Turkish people create lots of stories.

The second part is not true, it's ridiculous. Turks love their daughters very much and if anything they look over anybody very closely who is interested in their daughter. You will have to prove yourself to the family.
You do not have to be careful. No strike that, they have some real lookers there and you find it almost impossible not to give one a try. Just treat her with respect and you will be okay.
