My friend swears that putting color or highlights in your hair can lead to some hair loss. Is this true?

Not exactly. It depends on how strong or sensitive your hair is to these products. However, coloring your hair numerous times can cause it to be so brittle that it may eventually fall out of your head. I'm not syaing it will, but it might. It's just a speculation. So you can go ahead and do it. It's up to you, but I would use it in moderation just to be on the safe side.

Its a myth. Over colouring can yes maybe make you hair break easily but not hair loss..
The rules of Colouring is once ever 6 months and not before.
I have coloured my hair more then 15 times I have no hair loss at all.. If you still have doubts ask a Doctor.

Generally no, colouring your hair is fine. But repetitive colouring, especially with harsh paroxides can cause your hair to become brittle and fall out. Also if you have sensitive skin it could cause a nasty sculp rash that could lead to hair loss. Always remember to test your Dye on your beforehand to see if you are sensitive to it. Also buy good quality dyes even if they are a tad bit more expensive.

for sure. I've done it myself. just be careful. your more likely to lose hair by bleaching it not by coloring it. and use a 10 percent peroxide when coloring and a higher one when lightening

I know a girl that coloured her hair so much that she had plaid dandruff! Come on... that was funny!

As a long as you don't over dry and condition your hair you'll be fine.
