Ok, most intelligent people know that 90% of muslims are not on planes or wearing stupid suicide belts and that we're also not into creating trouble. Here's a good question to those who like to bash Islam. If you don't believe in it, then why are you so afraid of it? The average muslim does nothing to you, lives their daily lives, and just wants to raise their children to be good people. Something inside of you must know it's true and fighting to do what it wants to do, else you couldn't care less. Those that are always bashing Islam are insecure in their own faith, and to prove that they believe in their own faith although they have doubts, they need to attack what their souls know is true. Why else would you be so obsessed with something you don't believe in?

Well Said !!

Well those who like to bash Islam all the times actualy do not use their own brain but like to think from "media point of view' and this is a big tragedy ! if they meet a normal muslim just btw , they would know how different we are form those small proportion of igorant/redicals . . I fear some peoples are coward enough not to search the reality on their own because they are afraid of reality , they just need "islam and muslims" for speaking out their frustration ........and heck ,they do not know what actualy they are after LOL. Such a pitty !

Well, not everybody is afraid of you - I'm not. If you're a good and loving person then you'd be welcome under my roof any time.

What people are afraid of - and this doesn't just apply to Islam - is fundamentalism. In my view, fundamentalist Christians can be every bit as dangerous - take Ann Coulter's remark to the effect that the US should conquer the Middle East and forcibly convert them to Christianity, or the fact that a number of fundamentalist Christians believe that they don't have to do anything about global warming because the Rapture is on its way and they'll all be gathered to Jesus and leave the rest of us behind. (Some of them go so far as to interpret current political and climatic phenomena as a sign of the oncoming Rapture and a cuse for rejoicing).

People are afraid of fundamentalist Islam because it, too, has manifestations - I don't need to itemise them here - that can lead to doing harm to innocent people. And fundamentalist Judaism justifies alienating several generations of Palestinians.

If we could all simply take those precepts of our various religions that tell us to live peaceably and lovingly with one another, the world would be a much nicer place. Unfortunately there are far too many people in this world who get their happiness from believing that they're right and everyone else is wrong.

Peace be with you.

I really do not know why are you asking such a question. Do you think that people who are afraid of Islam will answer you. I doubt. I believe that they would not even admit they are or they will tell you things about terrorism. Or you would find people who actually do not believe in religions at all - as you can see the answers -.
Maybe it would be better if you and I and everyone who believes in Islam and is ready to make things about it clear for others would answer the following questions: Why do we believe in it and why are we not afraid of it why it is our live and soul?

Would you support me to?

They don't know us my Dear...

Although they don't know us, they feel we are dangerous, the beauty, attractivity (if there is a word like this) of Islam attracts them.. They want to know, but they are afraid.. They would like to listen, but they don't. They either join the troops mocking the religion, or the others hating it.. They Hate Islam and traet Muslims with hatered and racism; because they think Muslims are Haters and racists !!!! Is that logic? It's like I "enslave the black man, becuase he abuses his slave"!

They know nothing about us, Answers is a very small gate but it is woorking fine, at least I knew you, You Are sure aware of people who are apparently Muslims and are actually away from Islam.. I can't do a perfect job showing how much we are peaceful, while a demonstration in KSA is requesting to burn the Pope.

deviation, we deviated from Islam, this is what we have done...

We once had a Teacher
The Teacher of teachers,
He changed the world for the better
And made us better creatures,
Oh Allah we’ve shamed ourselves
We’ve strayed from Al-Mu'allim,
Surely we’ve wronged ourselves
What will we say in front him?
Oh Mu'allim...

He was Muhammad salla Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam,
Muhammad, mercy upon Mankind,
He was Muhammad salla Allahu 'alayhi wa sallam,
Muhammad, mercy upon Mankind,
Teacher of all Mankind.

See what respectful people from other culture think of Islam, let's remember the Movie "Lion of the desert", "The 13th Warrior" or "The Massage". This is enough for me at the moment, as long as some one out there is willing to hear, I'm willing to speak. As long as troops of tough radicals out there are willing to attack; They have to get through me first, Logic by logic and word by a word. As long as I fight for God; Such "peaceful" fight, I know It is ok. Don't worry my Dear, This religion has got The Almighty Being to protect it.

I see all of these answers and yet I wonder where these people were just after 9/11. As a Diversity Awareness trainer, I've had to research countless stories of lovely people who were attacked simply for "looking Islamic".
An Egyptian born man who lost his job after receiving an outstanding performance appraisal because he wouldn't change his name to "something hispanic" in south texas because his last name allegedly frightened customers away..
convenience store owners dragged out of their stores and beaten half to death.. children accosted at school.. fathers and mothers detained without counsel for months on end.. an actual proposal drawn up to recreate detention centers and camps like we did to the Japanese americans in World War II..
If nobody is afraid, then why did this happen?

People fear what they do not understand. What they do not understand they destroy.
None of my muslim friends would harm someone else. It's people like you and Councilman Salahuldin, perhaps some will become educated and less fearful.
Hugs and blessings to you my friend.
and good morning!

I am a Catholic and I have quite a few friends who are Muslims through my husbands work, he is a Policeman, and they are wonderful people, one is here in my house tonight helping me because I broke my leg and I have 5 children under 7, 2 sets of twins and a boy. She is so kind and friendly, I would not know what to do without her. God bless her

Perhaps it is not Islam that they are afraid, but the concept of what they have seen in the media (this I believe is what you are talking about on the whole) and or their obsession with fear itself We have to remember that people do odd, weird, and often distasteful things when they are afraid...
Don't worry we will make it and more will see that we are not what is portrayed on the media. We just have to keep putting our best foot forward, remain steadfast in the face of adversity and as long as we don't lose our cool we will be fine. Hang in there, we all have to hang in there. The more of us who keep showing the good side of Islam will one day push through. I whole heartedly believe this.

for me, i do not bash islam and i am not afraid of islam... i am not afraid of anyone except God, because he derserves complete reverence.

it is obvious that there is just a certain percentage of muslims who are terrorists, but 10% of 3 billion people is alot of people.....what makes the 90% inactive ones look bad is that they refuse to do anything about the terrorists, which signals to the rest of the world that you secretly agree with them......so instead of sitting around and doing nothing, do something to stop terrorism.... we do not see why the USA has to do your job for you.

Why don't the 90% stand up against 10% who give Islam a bad name?
