Use a whistle and tell them that everytime they hear the whistle they have to freeze or when they hear the whistle, the first one to get to the chair in the living room wins a cookie or something.....The kids at the school I work at work for tokens which they use to buy things at the little store (provided by the school) so one day I needed some rowdies to be quiet and I challenged them to be quiet and all the kids that did not talk I gave 3 tokens to reward them. Remember kids love a competition, they always want to be better than someone else!

why not just give them time out, maybe in there own rooms for about half an hour with no music or Tv. Make them read a book, most kids dont like reading. If the are rowdy i wouldnt reward them with fun activity because they may come to rely on this as a way to have fun.
introduce the games or activities before they become rowdy its hard to suggest particular activity not knowing ther gender or interest. do you let them use the computer maybe some fun games that are educational, that way they are learning as well.

or just google activities for children on the internet, there are many more
however if you dont like them on the computer how about a board game, cooking, playing outside, some craft activities there are so many things they can do, honestly you are only limited by your imagination
anyway good luck with taming them

I trust each little bit of what you have mentioned. i think of element 2, Watch the youngster's habit, is in all risk the main severe. infants, with out being knowledgeable on a thank you to act around a canines, are in all risk the reason of a canines undesirable habit. the infants must be knowledgeable merely by way of fact the canines does. All this holds for any breed of canines. as far by way of fact the Pit Bull, have you ever heard the term "Nanny canines"? That replaced into the Pit Bull. do you be attentive to what the main prevalent kinfolk canines replaced into back interior the 1920's? you obtain it, the Pit Bull. while my daughter introduced my grandson to the homestead for the 1st time, a pair of month old, and sat his service on the floor all 3 of the canines went over to take a sniff to work out what do we've here. The Terrier and the Beagle then went back to malicious program the adults. The Pit sat good there next to the infant the full time he replaced into there. Are Pits sturdy with infants? You wager they're!

I do a few things with my second graders. One is, when they start to get loud, or are doing group work and need to come back together I say "If you hear my voice, touch your nose" I wait a few seconds and say something else like "If you hear my voice, touch your head" and continue until I have everyone's attention. Obviously, we practice this several times before I start using it so that they kids know what I expect. WIth younger children I sometimes clap out a pattern and they have to clap back the same pattern. Doing either of those things always works in my classroom. Good Luck!

send them outside to get some fresh air. Or get a ps2 with a 2player game and that will keep them going all day--take them places-have a family day on wkends where your whole family does something together-like go to a movie if they are well behaved all week, put up a chart and keep track of the days they are good and give them a star and if the whole week is filled up have them tell you what they would like the family to do--it gets the kids motivated to try and be well behaved for the week---Jill R

First of.....start singing..normally this will bring a halt to the room....pick a old song...or one they can easily join in on......a soft one....not so rowdy...

then how about making sun catchers for the windows or playing a game of scrabble, letting them help out in the kitchen (making a snack or helping with dinner)
Go for a walk....give each child a garbage bag....see who picks up the most trash and give them a dollar when you're done.....great way to help the neighborhood.....

Best wishes....
There are so many web sites...type in Crafts for kids...
you can print mazes out or let them make their own...and give each a try at it.....

Tell them a cool story, usually a metaphor for their actions, or one about when you where their age. Make it magical, interesting, and or awesome. It will make them gain new found respect for you and when they have respect for you, even the slightest, they will do your bidding. I am 24 and live with my parents, suffering through grad. school. To this day, I cannot stand them for they parenting practice, but the reason I respect them is for the many great things they have done before the had the 5 monsters that are all grown up now. Without those stories, I would have labled them as evil child abusers for the rest of my days.

Truthful stories are awesome, regardless of how unflash they are. You really have to look at it this way...Do you want to raise your children? Or do you want MTV to?

First off- are they boys are girls? It makes a difference- as a mother of two- I have began to realize that most of the time they want YOUR attention.- I know it is not always possible, but that it why I get up earlier than everyone- I try to get some of the chores around the house done so that I can "play" with them. It makes a difference- also rotate toys so that you can bring out different things. Is this a school setting???

Think of an activity that occurs when you execute an action, for example, "When I clap my hands in the air three times, you have to run to the far wall and touch it." If you drum this duty into their heads from the start it can be a good way to stop rowdyness, especially if the first five get recognition from you, or even a point or prize or something. I remember this from primary school. It usually worked, good luck!
