Perhaps you could try going for a run/walk or bike ride instead. This will help to raise your feel good chemicals and will give you a natural high and will keep you busy so you will be less likley to drink. If you really are not that keen on exersizing perhaps you could try and stock up on all sorts of non-alcoholic drinks which are also low calorie. Perhaps alohol free larger may help. Maybe you could try and fill in that time you would normally drink with something else that does'nt involve drinking, maybe a hobbie or interest you've wanted to do for ages. Good luck!

i know exactly how you feel! the first thing i do when i get in from work (8:30pm) is open the fridge door and grab a strongbow! i'm trying to diet too! i was supposed to be doing a 7 day diet (tuesday - tuesday) and my mate comes down every friday and we drink several bottles of wine! unfortunately, my will power caved in and i ended up drinking my wine after all! needless to say i didn't lose any weight that week! if you want a suggestion though, white wine is less fattening than lager, cider, beer etc. on weightwatchers, a pint of cider is 3 points lager is 3 points and beer is 4 points! a glass (125 ml) of wine is only 1 point. you can drink a bottle (75 cl) of wine for 7 points! if you drink 4 cans/bottles of lager it's 8 points! not that i'm trying to encourage you to drink but if you want to still enjoy a drink after work, wine is just less fattening! does that help?

Hi friend what is your responsibilities at teh job?? Is it quite hectic?? U said you talk to your self & try to avoid at least.. Self talking is good but beaware of the addiction.. It is much advisable for you to go get some counselling to have a grip against your addiction.. since self talking has not been ansered properly ,, since the message is goiing halfway I guess...make it a point to meet some close friends relative , have some good hobbies, come and join the computer , meet them on-line, avail your self in a different direction...rather take another route.. where you do not have al shops...Or reduce little by little,,, but if youtake pills .. and then you start boozing again... will worsen the issue ...If you want to go for the pill at once you also will have to keep a full stop for alc...Good Job my friend.. cheers !!!!

Leave your money at home. Buy light beer. Or talk to AA, because that sounds a bit like an adiction going on there.
But, as for the loosing weigh part - I've found that having no money to buy food/booze stops you from getting into it!

Willpower's important, but also,is it the taste of lager,'cos you can buy non alchoholic lager. If it's more than that,it could be the start of an addiction, though i hope not.If unsure, talk to a doctor, and be as open and honest as possible. All the best!

First you probably need to understand why you are drinking beer.
If it is just for the taste, then you can buy non-alcoholic beer.
If it is for the 'buzz', you have a more serious problem. You probably need to figure put how to give yourself more willpower.
You could look into an AA meeting also,

This is tricky as i'm exactly the same as you an at the moment i'm in the habbit of doing a bottle of wine a night. I think you really need to be more stronger willed & determined & find something else to do at night to occupy your mind, it's very hard but i found once before, once you get on the right track & go a couple of nights you gradually adjust easier to going without it. Easy for me to say! :)

just take one day at a time and if its just weight you are trying to loose (I mean not a hidden problem) only drink when you are down the pub and you dont have to drink beer.
A lot of people who use my pub drink vodka and slim line when on diets.
Or like someone else mentioned try a light beer when drinking at home!
Plus exercise regually!!
