Was this not discussed in the custody hearing? if no, then you need a lawyer, if this is a money issue, then the CAB will provide one free for you if you are UK. Good luck.

You lost custody.
You need to tell us a little more.

Did you have a court hearing and the court gave custody to the other parent?
If this is the case
-you do have a right to see the child.
- you will have to pay child support. back child support too

But I suggest, since you lost the custody case and by the looks of your name you are female. I recommended you take some you time and get some help work out any problems you may have. Do not draw your child in to your toxic world.

If you had joint custody and lost all access. Then no. You can not see your child.
You must have done something really bad. Drug users, alcoholics, mentally unstable people are the ones who usually lose custody and access to their children. Again, if this is your case. And I don’t know.. You need to take some time and straighten out your life before you try to get back into your Childs life. Do not mess up your kids life.

But keep in mind. If you did or said something to the child, treated the child bad, treated the child’s father bad, lied to everyone and treated everyone around you like crap for that matter. It might be best for you stay away.

I know the name you use. If you are who I think you are.. highly unlikely, but If you are I strongly suggest stay away! FAIR WARNING. You will not like the out come if you try to contract your child. The end rest will not be good! Get yourself help, you’re a drug user, mentally unstable. And a wacky person who needs to be in mental ward the rest of your life.
Noted: Disregard the above statement if you name is not jen.

this is a too important problem for yahoo answers - please go to a solicitor or a legal advice centre. there are certain solicitors that specialise in these kind of family cases. If you are in the UK - the Citizens Advice will have lists of those in your area.
make sure you take all the relevant court papers with you and proof of your income etc if you will be applying for legal aid.
in the meanwhile try and improve your life - like getting any probs sorted out and getting a job - you are much more likely to get access, if you can prove that you are a responsible parent who is really wanting the best for the child - it may take a while but please don't give up - good luck!

Why did you loose custody in the first place. You must now talk to the persons who now have custody and arrange visits and time with your child. That can be done between you or seek legal advice for ,if the persons do not agree for you to have time with your child.

If your parental rights have been terminated, sad fact is unless there have been special conditions addressed, your access to your own flesh-and-blood is left to the whims of the legal guardian. Many courts do this as a precursor to "free up" an adoptable child for another family's use. Often, once court ordered visitation has ceased, the last time you saw your kid actually becomes the last time you'll see your kid.
If this nightmare is yours, I'm sorry.

It depends on the law and what State you're in. The biggest factor is going to be WHY you lost the child in the first place. Do you need counseling, rehab, a more stable environment? If any of these things apply to your situation then you may want to get started. Prehaps you should contact a Lawyer also. Keep in mind what is best for your child and be HONEST with yourself.

If you lost custody due to a court order, your only recourse would be to get permission from the legal guardian. Otherwise you could appeal the custody decision.

custody and access are usually two seperate issues and most parents without custody still get access, speak to your lawyer and see if that was determined in court, if not you need to go back to court. if your access rights were denied ask if you can make some plans to get them back eg parenting course, drug programme, dont mean to offend but you didnt give much detail... but courts will generally grant access if the parent sorts their lives out as its best for the child. good luck

Depends on why you lost custody.

custody is it not residency now? you still have a right to see her even if you don't have residency. parental rights sounds big but really it means nothing these days. go and seek legal advice.
