we got a cat about 7 months ago, and this women told us that the cat may cause infertility in my 8 year old sister so my mo wants to give him away.. is that true? i need an answer soon, but please those of you who arent certain dont answer as this is my cat and sister we're talking about. thank you loads

This is absolutely ridiculous and untrue. Don't you think if this was true that every woman on the planet that owned a cat would be infertile! Think about it! Use your common sense and you would not even be asking this question.

Pregnant women are advised not to come in contact with cat feces, because it can contain an organism which can affect the unborn child and even cause miscarriage, but I don't think your 8 year old sister has to worry about that.

What!!! No! That has to be the most stupid thing I have ever heard! You can't listen to crazy cat hating people, did she tell you the cat is going to steal your breath too? Keep your Kitty and fear not! I have had cats my whole life and I have never had any problems, the only thing a cat can cause is allergies!

No, that's not true. My mom's friend has had cats for 12 years and has 11 kids. Not at all true.
