The is probably a good amount of medicine in your system still. If you have used Albuterol, Advair, flowvent, or any of the hundered of asthma medication out there you are breathing "perfectly" becuase you are still using the medication, wether you have used it recently or not. this is a good thing, it is far better to stay in this state than it is to be mistaken that you are clear, and have a serious asthma attack. YOU DON'T KNOW HOW BAD THEY ARE UNTIL YOU HAV HAD ONE. An asthma attack typically occurs when you have the flu, or catch neumonia. That is the primary reason, why the doctor wants you to get a flu shot every year.

If you stop taking your meds you will have a slight weeze, but should be able to deal with it for the rest of your life. If you use your medication rarely you will not be able to have teh near perfect effect, but you will save a lot of money and not have the feeling of dependency. MOST ADULTS ARE IN THIS STAGE. If you don't ever use your medicine, you will be fine as long as there is not a servere change in the weather, if you avoid getting sick, or if you truely have cleared your asthma.

Best things to do when you have foudn out you have asthma is to start running, while using the medication, get your lungs working really hard, and learn how to control your breath in a very powerful setting. This way, if you ever have an attact, you can right it back long enought to go to the hospital, or use your own protable nebulizer.

You will always have asthma. It will never go away. You stated that you are a teenager and as such your body is in a state of flux, still changing. But asthma is classified as a hyperactive airway disease and your level of reactivity will change as you develop into adulthood. Though I suspect that your symptoms will resurface the amount of them will be dependant on what your triggers are and how much you try to avoid them. Consistent use of maintaince medications are also a factor. Keeping yourself healthy, watching your diet and exercise will also help. Best of luck.

You may outgrow some or all of its effects. It depends on your individual case.
