Me and my friend (Mongolians) are thinking about making a website for those who want to learn Mongolian language.

And first we have to study the market, right? So, I was wondering if people would be interested in it.

It might not be a bad idea. However, there would have to be done a thorough work of cultural awareness about Mongolia. Even if it covers quite a large territory quite a large percentage of worlds population know very little of that country.

I think Russia, China and some other neighboring countries would be a better market for teaching Mongolian.

Before you would create a thorough website of Mongolian it would probably be a better idea to start with some basic education and phrases that might be useful for travelers. Even more, you can create a podcast.

And even if I do not see myself learning Mongolian in nearest future I believe there are a lot of people in the world who would benefit from your efforts.

би тэртээ тэргүй монгол хүн байна өө.
But its a nice idea. Why dont you make an online Mongolian-English (or vice versa) translator?

Not really. Because there are only 230 million people in Mongol, and most of them are damn poor...it is not wise to expect Mongol to be an useful market to sell something in a short period...

But on the other hand, it can be quite useful because nobody in West studies their language.
