never be normal again? will i never be able to engaged in fully fledged sports activitiesbor any full contact sport? my doctor looked at it. said hed refer me to have it looked at, but he said he didnt feel anything could be done, unless i twisted my ankle, went over and cracked it. then he said in that case, it would be put into a cast, but my ankle and foot would never be the way it used to be. it would never be the same again....does anyone have any views on this? thankyou

this brings me to when the Dr. said the same about me..I was in sports in within a years time I must have snapped that same ankle several times,but years later without a brace am doing fine..no I don't play sports no more...but you should be extra careful right now your ankle is weak-there are exercises to help you make it stronger are you going to a sports medicine Dr.? if so he will tell you what exercise you could do to strengthen it...wish you luck

My daughter had a weak ankle as a youngster and had two/three visits a month to A&E, they told her to be carefull but it would give way just walking, as she got older it eased off a bit untill last week when it gave way again. Try the elastic bandages-that what the hospital gave her.
