I am using a Canon ZR 600 camcorder, and am interested in using it for a home films, and to teach myself about filmmaking and digital video editing. I learn software fairly quickly, but would prefer to start with something simple. Any details are appreciated, including what are the best/worst, costs, ease of interface, etc. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

You can use Windows Movie Maker, which is automatically installed with Windows Xp, so you should have it on your PC. You can also use Ulead, Power Producer, but those are more complicated and you can have a trial or buy them.

I'd highly suggest Windows Movie Maker. It's standard on all Windows Operating Systems, as far as I know, and I started using it in January and it's quite simple! Try checking your computer to see if you have it. If you do, it'll help you save $ since you won't have to buy a program and will give you experience in editing before deciding to get something better. Good luck!
