Let's slow things down a bit and just look at the facts. Is she a popular girl or is she a bit of a loner? Because if she's often with a lot of friends she may not care a lot about your feelings if you tell her that you love her - she might use peer pressure on you to make you embarrass yourself. However, if she's a person without many friends she might appreciate it more to let her know someone likes her.
I'm assuming that she doesn't have a boyfriend, if you feel that you really need to tell her. How old are you two? Are you in your teens or are you adults? Teenagers are naturally more likely to make you feel embarrassed. If your adults you've probably got less chances of getting made to feel silly if she rejects you.
If you feel that you love her this much, and you're confident about it then I do think you should tell her. Since you're very shy I'd recommend sending her a message by e-mail or cellphone. It might be easier to send her a message this way than talk to her face-to-face. Just try to prepare yourself though if she rejects you and don't forget, it's not the end of the world.

The first thing is NEVER TELL A GIRL YOU LIKE HER BY ANY MEANS OTHER THEN ONE ON ONE. even though you are shy the thing to remember is that if you want to be with her you have to confront your shyness. As a few of my shy friends have done in the past, don't tell her in instant message or over the phone. The best way to tell her is just to walk up to her and be yourself. If you are shy, be shy but walk right up to her and say ' I KNOW YOU MIGHT THINK OF ME AS KIND OF A SHY GUY BUT I WOULD REALLY LIE TO GET TO KNOW YOU BETTER. after that she will either smack you in the face "metaphorically speaking", or the more likely scenario invite you to begin a conversation. Don't let her have a monologue with herself. She will not bite if you open your mouth. Just say what feels natural and soon enough your shyness when talking to her will go away. Now getting romantically involved "kissing and such" when your shy is a different story, but post another question when you get to that point

i am a girl (the id belongs to my brother though haha) and i almost always fall for shy guys, or at least guys that are ridiculously shy around me. Well, I am in my 20's, and I havent had a date yet. Should I blame myself for liking shy guys? NO! they are so sweet! However, I am a girl and I would love it if you guys make me feel special by coming up to ME to talk to me! No, please dont try the long route of being friends with my friends, because i would always wonder "did he actually like me?" so would you not like to make us girls who like shy guys to feel special?!
Are you friends with this girl? that would really help me tell you the right way to get you feelings across. All I can say right now is dont do anything too creepy or too boring.

dont tell her via sms or other people. she will think you are gutless. just tell her in person. you dont have to come right out and say it. you can always make a joke about liking you and see how she reacts?
you may feel nervous now but think about how much weight will be lifted once you get it out in the open. rejection is hard but would you rather know than keep asking what if

You needn't bother telling her. Women are very perceptive, she almost certainly knows already. If she hasn't given you an obvious come-on then she doesn't want you.

well wen i lykd a girl first i told her mates tht i lykd her then they told her and from there they told me she liked me so i asked her out or u culd jus tell her tht u lyk her by txt or sumthin its usually makes u less shy or embarrised.
