I'm quite interested in working in the field of quantum computing but don't know if I need a degree in computer science or electrical engineering.

You'd need an advanced degree in theoretical physics for that kind of thing.

Sounds like a major in Physics with a minor in Computer Science.

As a electrical engineer i can tell you its not EE.
I don't think it's at all an engineering discipline, but that of a scientific nature.
Perhaps starting with physics and quantum mechanics - as a Physicist.

U can do two things...
BS in computer science and then MS in physics
else do everything in physics that's a straightforward option...
