I love HARD CORE rap or metal when I train. I like to think of things that REALLy piss me off too. It's very theraputic to do it that way, to work out aggression instead of being outwardly aggressive. And, if you are a fan of Rocky movies, I bought the Rocky 4 sound track... I love Vince DiCola, his syphonies are GREAT!!! There are many good songs. Can you think of anything that inspires you? My girlfriend likes to listen to techno, she keeps beat with it. There is nothing wrong with that, it is just not my style. Also, here's another suggestion, sometimes when I run, I will time it to a 1 hour run. I will keep looking at the time and doing fractions on how far along, in terms of time. The thought process of doing all of the math takes your mind away from the run. Good luck buddy.

It's cliche, but you can't go wrong with the Rocky soundtrack - particularly compilations with songs taken from Rocky 1 through 6.

Robert Tepper - No Easy Way Out
3 6 Mafia - It's a Fight
Joey B Ellis - Go For It

And so on...

But a couple other winners that people in boxing and fighting gyms tend to favor as either training or entrance music...

Fort Minor - Remember the Name
DMX - Mike Tyson Intro Song

AVOID:

Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston and Michael Buble.

AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, anything classic rock. But hey that's what I'm into. Although I must admit I've never used or played music while I trained. I like hearing the jump ropes hissing the speed bags banging off the platform, and the pop of the heavy bag.

to tell you the truth i took a class and the teacher said that a steady music without dramatic changes in its sound is best.

if the music is too sad or too much screaming, you won't react well.

some boxers prefer mellow music that relaxes them while others prefer things that pumps them up.

i'd go with smoething that pumps you up. if the song gives you goosebumps, try boxing to that song.

I listen to something hardcore when boxing or doing Muay Thai. Anything that has raw power and aggression. I would suggest...

Korn
Pantera
Suicidal Tendencies
Sick of it All
Tool
Fear Factory
Hatebreed

the list goes on and on
