There is an office you can go to located in Covent Garden. Ask any of the shops in the central parade and they'll direct you to it.

I think you have to pay a fee and are allocated a time, but there could be a waiting list. You can't just start up busking without this permit.

First step would be to approach your local Council and ask about permits. I think you only need to get a licence if you are busking for money, but double check first!

You could approach one of the buskers and ask if you need a permit. Sometimes it's a pretty political system even if you don't realize it so you don't want to step on anyone's toes so to speak. Best to you.

Well I dont know where you are but here in Australia you need a busking permit...
