There are some facts one should know about sleeping states,
sleeping for too long is not good as it will make one lethargic.
In Sleep one may not be able to focus the mind as one would desire. thus it may make you access some part of your memory that may be not what you want.
sleeping on your left side with breath in right nostril is the best and advantageous.
don't sleep during the day
at sunrise the atmosphere is most suitable for both nostril breathing ,this will enable the breath to reach the Brahma nadi (central channel) to enable enlightenment.

It depends on what does one do upon sleeping late. Why does one have to sleep late in the first place? Is it because of job, making a honest living or the opposite?
Sleeping late doesn't reflect on anything sinful by itself but rather what a person does to cause and create a sinful act in return...

No, provided that you're not neglecting your duties with regard to your family, your work or school, your religious obligations (no sleeping late and blowing off church!), and so on.
In fact, it's probably displeasing to God if we don't get enough sleep. He expects us to take reasonable care of our health, and part of that involves getting adequate sleep.
So, it's actually a good and healthy thing to "sleep in" once in a while.
There's research which suggests that getting a good full night's sleep on a regular basis increases mental function.
I read somewhere that Einstein typically slept 10 hours a night, and we all know how smart he was.

I wouldn't call it a sin exactly, but it's probably not the best habit, if you do it all the time. It seems like all the really healthy and happy people are early risers! I guess there is a reason that God made the sun to rise when it does.

The injunction of Bhagavad-gita is that one should not eat too much or too little, sleep too much or not sleep enough.
One should be moderate in order to execute the purpose of human life. Staying awake during late night is not good because one will sleep during early morning hours which will disturb one's spiritual practices.
Staying awake during Brahma-muhurta hours, one and a half hours before sun-rise is best for spiritual practices.

No my dear it is not, so treasure it tomorrow, before a new week of work begins! We are all important, and people on here should start to realize this because deep down, we are all the same race.... human.
