Pink Floyd is my preferred band. Oasis struck me as one of those bands that got a lot of hype but would fade away in no time. Might have had something to do with one of them making a statement that they were a better group than the Beatles (anybody who'd say that probably never experienced the Beatles. Or was a member of the Stones or something....)
Own most Pink Floyd LP's/CD's. Don't own any Oasis.

Oasis, I like Pink Floyd as well, but Oasis is simpler, lighter and funnier.
Pink Floyd has this "music-to-stare-at-the-wall-by" quality that can be depressing (Cf The Final Cut, The Wall, Echoes...)
I like Oasis because of their singles (and for the singalong factor).
Pink Floyd is more of an "album" band, it takes time to listen, and it put a frown on your face.

Pink Floyd. Even though Oasis has some good stuff, I prefer a little Psychedelic Rock!

I'm an Oasis fan myself. Not that I dislike Floyd but that was a bit before my time. I was a teenager in the nineties so I can relate to Oasis more. They haven't been as good in recent years though.
