i hear things that u have to work the oblique muscles to get rid of the 'love handles' they cause when they're not in shape but i also hear that its all fat over the obliques that causes love handles and the only way to get rid of them is to just to loose weight and eventualy they will go away. can anyone that knows what they're talking about tell me the truth?

i SWEAR A GOOD WAY is to lay on your side bring ur top leg up towards your chest and do a crunch...try doing 3 sets of twenty on both sides...

you can also try getting a free weight....as heavy as you can hold ....20-60 lbs probably...

and standing straight up with the weight in one hand all the way down by your side and with only using ur abs lean to the opposite side...keep ur body straight up in down though try standing against wall to start out...

if you dont have weights get a bag and fill it with stuff and hold the straps...

You have to lose fat from your entire body because spot reduction does not work and here is why:

Before fat can be burned, the fatty acids must be released from the fat cells into the blood in the veins. This blood has to travel throughout much of the systemic and pulmonary circulatory system before the fats are oxidized in either the liver or the muscles (depending on the aerobic or anaerobic nature of the exercise). This is true whether the fat cells are next to the muscles being exercised or on the opposite side of the body from the muscles being exercised. The fats cannot just jump across from fat cells into muscle tissue or liver cells without going through the blood.

From experience, no exercise targets particular areas of fat. You need to loose body fat and retain muscle by dieting and exercise. The love handles on a man will be the last to leave along with manboobs and that fat just below your underarms towards the back. It's apparent to me that women metabolise different to men.

you can't "target" exercise a certain muscle and expect it to get smaller. if you have love handles, you need to lose weight altogether.

change your diet and get some exercise. stop drinking colas and eating high fat foods and those handles will start to shrink.

Lose the fat, that's the only way. Do something aerobic. Remember your fat loos happens backwards, so it'll go first from the place where you got it last.

first of all if u want to lose weight or "love handles" try changing your diet and working out. cut out the McDonald's and put down the tv remote. lots of sex will help lose those unwanted rolls.
