this is usually a pinched nerve. Roll on another side. If that doesn't work, Streatch your arem straight, then relax it. If this occurs more than a few nights a month, consult a doctor.

Nerve conduction tests aren't always worth a lick... There are three main nerves in your arm, chances are they tested the one for cubital (I think it's the radial nerve). I don't know where your tingling is, if it's more towards the pinky side, then continues up through the elbow it could be the ulnar nerve (associated with cubitle tunnel/tennis elbow). If you feel the back of your elbow where your funny bone is (this is actually the ulnar nerve) in the small dip of the elbow and slowly flex your arm back and forth, it's possible that you'll feel something popping. That's actually the nerve, many times it can get inflamed and be painful and cause the numb tingliness. It's possible that it's even a problem with the bundle of nerves in your shoulder. With the tingliness I'd have to go with a nerve problem, just be vigilant with your doctor, many times they think it's all in your head if it's not an easy diagnosis. Ask about MRIs, the other nerves in your arms, and be persistent. Before you go back to a doctor keep a 'pain journal.' Write down what you do that makes it feel worse, what makes it better, where exactly it hurts, what exactly it feels like and any other minute details you can think of. The more information you are armed with, the better your doctor visit can be. Good Luck!

RE:
i have had pins and needles in my left hand all night ,how can i get rid of them?

Pins and Needles are commonly caused by poor circulation. That is why people who sit with crossed legs for long periods get them. It may have been something to do with the way you slept. Try moving your hand round in circula motions to encourage the blood flow.

you sound as though you either have a trapped nerve or carpul tunnel syndrome, i had such bad pins and needles at night it would keep my awake, then it started to happen when i was driving so i could not feel my hand at all. go to your GP and he might refer you to a specialist, some nerve conduction tests may need to be done to really see what is going on, i had both my carpuls operated on and it cured the problem, now i can sleep at night.

might be neuritis. maybe you're deficient of B vitamins. take polynerv 500 mg. but if it is chronic (if you experience that "pins and needles" in your left hand for the past six months or more), consult a doctor. chronic paresthesia can sometimes be symptomatic of serious conditions.

I do not know but as you have had this all night i think you would be wise to give NHS 24 a call even just for peace of mind .. you shouldn`t ignore feelings , pains or sensations in the arms .. .

If you've had pins and needles all night I would advise you to see a doctor asap.

If the condition is still there and it spreads to the other arm and you get discomfort or pain as well, ambulance!

However, it is more likely that you have 'slept on it' and constricted the blood flow. Keep watch.

Soak your hand in warm water to get the blood circulating freely.
