Everyone looks at their poo from time to time and anyone who says they don't is lying!

Frankly before answering this question I need to put some
facts forward. I am a trained Yoga Therapist and I also
practice Naturopathy. In my teaching experience I get
students from all walks of life, including medical doctors.
I always ask my students whether their poo (****/faeces)
floats in water and invariably many say NO they don't watch
it and some do say "sometimes". When I posed this
question to my doctor student he replied when he had been
to UK to attend a conference, there a scientist had made
a statement, IF YOUR FAECES FLOAT, YOU FLOAT FOR
THE DAY, AND IF IT SINKS, YOU SINK FOR THE DAY.
I was very happy to hear this coming from medical fraternity.

Floating poo denotes two things that it is a fresh poo and it
is well digested. Unfortunately 2 different health magazines
have said faeces floats because of presence of H2s gas and for no other reason.
This may be one of the reasons though my personal as well as my students experience is when I eat my food slowing chewing it well and do my yoga concentrating on my abdominal asana, next day my poo floats but if I eat hurriedly without chewing it well and miss on my yoga practice my poo though it is fresh it doesn't float much but very soon sinks.

I had another female student - a mother of 4 children asking
me why her two twins faeces floats and no matter how much
she flushes the toilet, the faeces doesn't get flushed away.
I explained the above points and told her since her twins play
a lot the food though "junk" is well digested and therefore it
floats. I told her if she exercised that much, her faeces would
also float. This was about 3 years ago. Now these twins have
grown and spending more time studying and no time for
playing/exercise and like their mother the faeces sinks.

Personally I see my poo daily and judge where I stand for the
day.

Everyone should watch it - it is the mirror of how you ate and
exercised the previous day - ofcourse if you are a non-vegetarian your poo would smell offensively and therefore
difficult to watch it.

of course I do. especially when there is a history of bowel cancer in the family. any blood in my poop and off to see the doctor to be on the safe side. it is a long painful death if you let it go.
