It hurts when it upsets notions that one may have had for a lifetime. It is disconcerting to learn that something you have believed in and/or relied on is not true.

It only hurts sometimes, not always. The only time the truth has hurt me is when I have had time to analyze it and recognize that whoever told me the truth knew me better than I knew myself. When you see something laid out in front of you from someone else, it hurts even more because it makes you realize how others perceive you to be or act as compared to how you think you are behaving. I know that I am not perfect, but please do not tell anyone I said that , I have built a really good reputation on my perfection , LOL I would not like to see it ruined. I am not completely insane there are some parts missing !
I hope this as helped you a bit , OK , I know I have helped you because we know that I am perfect ...Right....Shhhhhhh not so loud .

In the movie A Few Good Men the statement was made "You Can't Handle The Truth." I think this applies to everybody now and again. It is just easier to get along with lies and fantasy then the truth. The truth carries much responsibility while lies carry none at all. Except when you are caught in a lie, which is everytime!

Depends on what it is that is truth. Most known things to be true usually don't hurt unless someone is living in a delusion or has twisted truth. But some truths are a matter of perspective and so these truths can only hurt if you accept them to be true.

It is because you accept it and it does not agree to your wants of the present.
I have a suggestion to make you not feel the hurt, Kindly do not differentiate the Truth in terms as good or bad then it will not hurt so much
How to come to the level of do not differentiate!
accept that in the world of duality there is both sides of the matter which we experience.

If you have been told a lie all your life and then someone comes along and tells you the truth of course it is going to be painful because truth means change.

Because we are often resisitve to believe it. Most times we already know the truth, but when someone states the truth to us, it is then real. Anyway, the hurt feeling will pass. Just keep on living and you will see.

It depends on how far away one lives their life from it! The further away the more hurt when it is exposed! Live your life in the truth and there is no hurt.

The truth may hurt but what is worse is if you where lied to and if it is with someone you love you will always wonder are they being honest or lying.

We are too coward to accept the negative side of our personalities! If we are the brave ones then Truth does not hurt but we learn from it and correct ourselves ! But its soo rare !
