Couple of things you might want to do here. Next time it happens, turn off the water inlet to your toilet so that it does't overflow. If the water is slowly draining, plunge gently but make sure to get the plunger head fully submerged. Do a gentle first plunge to see if it clears ( the water should shoot down the toilet if you're successful). If not, do several more vigorous plunges and that should remove the clog. Turn back on the water and allow the toilet to fill. Flush and hope that the blockage really did clear. Once it's clear, get some liquid plumber or something like that at your next grocery shopping trip. Also, see if you can find where your sewer goes out into the street. If you have tree roots along that route, you need to get some tree root killer that goes down the toilet. It works wonders!!

There is a blockage in the pipes leading from your toilet. You need to call a plumber, or you can try flushing it away with a hose if you can. Been there, done that.

I believe you might need a plumber. It sounds like there is a bit of a blockage there. Try a plunger first and see if you can dislodge it yourself before the hefty bill of a plumber.

Omg so much water wasted!!!!
Call a plumber or something!!!! Just think of the amount of water you're wasting!!! ALL that water could equal to the amount of water you drink a week!!!!!!!!!!

In the long-term... the amount of money wasted on the water bill will cost more then the amount of money you'll pay to the plumber...

examine the decide on the flow valve- take off the tanks precise, and seem in there- you will see the plastic section that prevents the water pass while it gets to the precise. If the chain has come off, it won't close that valve, and purely shop working. it would be a particularly straight forward technique, you would be waiting to look in there, and determine it out. good success!!

Plunge the toilet to unclog it, then flush. If it's still stuck, call a plumber.
