i have asked this quetion a few times and i cant get a clear answer form anyone. I dont think the question im asking is that hard to under stand. maybe cause no body has ever done this before. i will ask it again but i will try to make it as clear and to the point as i can. first i will say what i want to do. i want to transfer a dvd that i have on my hard drive on my computer to the camera. I know this might sound strange but i think it would be cool to have something to watch if im not taking pics or shooting a video. the camera is a Olympus stylus 710 camera 7 megapixels. im sure this is possible as long as the video is in the right format. & if its not to long of a video. so now i need to know how to do this. im pretty sure the cameras video format is quicktime movie jpeg i think it can take up to 30 fps. so i need to know which converter program has this format and then how to transfer it to the camera i have a xd card for it im running out of room so i will end it

I have actually tried doing this myself... you can try going into "my computer" when your camera is plugged... then clickin on the camera probably ly the removable d: or e: drive and your camera folder will come up ... you then need to go to the folder your dvd movie is saved in and drag the folder to your cameras folder...

I hope this helped... a lil

but yes you will need a very very big memory card in your camera to do this....

You need to read the manual for the camera and find out the file type (generally it's MOV, AVI or MPEG2), it has to be at 15 FPS but it can be any standard size of 640x400, 320x200.

Then you need to generate your DVD files to the proper format and frame rate.

Then you need to get a card reader writer (unless that is built into your computer) and test it out with a memory card you don't care about, one with no pictures.

Drag and drop it to the card, then put the card into the camera and see if it plays.

Copying the movie file from your hard drive without converting to quicktime mov format that your olympus recognizes will not work.
I think your cam supports the following movie modes (mov format):
640x480/15fps, SHQ
320x240/15 fps, HQ
160x120/15fps, SQ

Here is what you need to do:
1. Convert the movie to one of the above mode. Remember bigger video size requires more XD memory space. If you don't have video converter, just google video converter and you will find lots of converter softwares.
2. Connect you cam to your PC via USB cable.
3. Open windows explorer and go to your converted file and right click on it then select copy.
4. Go to the removable drive corresponding to your XD memory and find the folder where you cam would normally save its recorded movie and right click on it and select paste.

If you don't have USB cable to connect your cam to PC, you will need to get a card reader.

Hope this helps.

You should try looking in the owners manual for your camera to see if it tells you how to do that. Or you could try going to a camera store in your area and asking them how to do it. Also, did you try looking for it on the internet? I know this doesn't for sure answer your question, I'm just trying the think of ways to help you. I hope you figure it out!
