How to help everyone escape from poverty and oppression?

At the moment, many nations are helping a small percentage of the world's poor and oppressed to escape to a better life. Currently the system works for those people who have the means and the ability to actually get to one of these nations so they can be accepted as refugees or asylum seekers. But what about the rest - many of whom are the most ill or just too poor to get the money together to fund their escape route? Should the developed nations not have a more active policy of providing safe, funded passage for those who most need it?

Education is the only thing that will save all of humanity. The world needs more like Booker T. Washington to open schools to raise people from oppression and poverty. Because asylum, where it succeeds at ending oppression, just changes the country one is unemployed and poverty stricken in.

Grameen Bank (GB) has reversed conventional banking practice by removing the need for collateral and created a banking system based on mutual trust, accountability, participation and creativity. GB provides credit to the poorest of the poor in rural Bangladesh, without any collateral. At GB, credit is a cost effective weapon to fight poverty and it serves as a catalyst in the over all development of socio-economic conditions of the poor who have been kept outside the banking orbit on the ground that they are poor and hence not bankable. Professor Muhammad Yunus, the founder of "Grameen Bank" and its Managing Director, reasoned that if financial resources can be made available to the poor people on terms and conditions that are appropriate and reasonable, "these millions of small people with their millions of small pursuits can add up to create the biggest development wonder."

Oh the inequality of it all. If only everyone in the world could drive BMWs and eat caviar. What are they teaching in school now? They give every team member a trophy, even if they didn't play. They pull the entire class down to the lowest classmates level. They graduate every student, even if they haven't learned the lesson.
And you haven't learned the lesson either. The lesson is everyone can't be the same. Some are pretty, some are smart. some are wealthy, some are athletic and some catch on that we can't change that.

However, people don't have to move to another country to move to places where they are comfortable at.



As for the ill and the financially poor.

The ill can be taken care by the healthy.

The financially poor don't need money to travel, they can always walk to their destination.



As for an external party providing escape route to a better life.

Imagine if an outside person providing your child an escape route to a better life without your consent.

There are over 4 billion people in the world living in poverty below the average wage of a Mexican citizen. They can't all go to the rich countries.

Countries like the U.S. CANNOT absorb all the poor people in the world. There are hundreds of millions of destitute people in the continent of Africa alone.
There are billions of poor people throughout the world. Not just Latin American countries.
The U.S. already accepts more LEGAL immigrants than the rest of the world combined. WE cannot do it alone.
The U.S. donates billions of dollars to poor countries. How much of it actually gets to its intended recipients? Much of it is stolen by corrupt governments in these countries.
There is no easy solution to the world's problems unfortunately.

I find it funny how many of the answers, not all, instantly have to mention illegal immigrants and mexicans when talking about the povery. The questions asked a general way to reduce/stop poverty not about illegal immgrants.
