It doesn't really matter why there is a drought; perhaps we should just get on and pray for rain. My pastor prayed for a drought-stricken town in QLD three years ago, and they had heavy downpours for weeks afterwards... will you join me in prayer for our land?!

I'm not sure about that but i am sure its been done all around the world for some time now.
Because we are flesh and blood, we all have a mouth that will bless at times and curse at times and sadly some will use the lords name in vain or missuse it.
God is great and he is full of mercy and his arms are open to the world whether we are Australians, South Africans or New Zealanders. He knows our abilities and our capabilities.
Australia has always faced draughts some worse than others i think it has to do with where Australia is on the map, regarding the equator and things.

IF that where the criteria every where there are farms and people who work hard there would be a drought. But at the same time what kind of god would use a drought, which affects everyone, to get back at those who use his name as they do.
I doubt god uses a shot gun when he wants to despense devine justice.

You cannot blame blasphemy for the drought, it is the climate

Where I live we are on very tight water restrictions, cannot water our gardens or grass. Recently we prayed for rain and received over 100 mls in a week still not enough to break the drought
Swearing doesn't cause droughts and if they do swear they are not Christians

Peace

I think they do that everywhere. I doubt Austrailia is worse than the rest of the world in that regard. So I don't think the drought is caused by that. Like anything, natural causes and disasters are just something which help strengthen us. Often bad things happen to good people in this life, and vice versa. So we shouldn't believe that just because something happened it is because the people were sinners.

According to Sheik Mohammed Omran, it is. Pat Robertson is probably blaming it on the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences for picking Ellen DeGeneres to host the Oscars.

Douga Mate! Drought is the word you are after and NO the people talking to God out in the outback/bush/country are just calling on his guidance!!
God does not punish people like that - he is a good God!
Drought and weather disturbances are not his anger or feelings, it is a natural occurance! Nature - natural.
Calling on Jesus Christ is wonderful. Get over yourself!

No, don't be superstitious..

It's because you live on a marginally habitable largely desert continent with low rainfall and poor soil that has been depleted by your farming practices.

Read "Collapse" by Jared Diamond. He has a very good chapter on the ecological problems in Australia.

This world is ruled by satan
'Satan comes to steal, kill & destroy'
'Satan roams around this world like a roaring Lion, seeing whom he may devour'
You don't have to Christian to see that this world is of evil in nature & Gods Word is true....you just have to be Human!

Every country on this earth have & are tying to blaspheme God in one way or another.
But God cannot be mocked!
Australia is just like any other country, going throuth the pangs of change.
You blind idiots, you can tell of this but you can't see what God says about it.
Ask the Lord to take the scales off your eyes please.

God will test us with both good times & bad times to see whether we forget him in the good times or curse him in the bad times.

God also tests both the good people and the bad people in various ways.

So maybe the Australians will learn from this and become good humans? Lets pray.

Good for them their drought they may be having has nothing to do with blasphemy. It's more likely due to global warming a man made or natural condition people all over the world say screw God millions of times. some times the.........Ah ah an my heart noooooooooooooooo....... . . . .
