someone asked me what religion i belonged to i had no real answer to give. My family suppose to be catholic, The last time I went to church was when I was 8 (When i moved from Mexico to the US) I'm now 17, so my religious prespectives started to change i started to question if there was a god, because i didnt follow any traditions i didnt go to church, you could pretty much say I know nothing about the bible. So i thought for a moment and told her, that I was the sort of person who lived day through day not live to die, i told her thatI was not sure if there was a god at all, and if there was i wouldnt change my lifestyle... then i talked to my parents about this and they didnt liek it, now they are trying to make me go to church but i refused, and they are mad at me when they were the ones to blame (i might be wrong) I don't understand what is the problem if i dont go around chanting what i think unless i'm asked. I dont hurt anyone, then what is the problem? If i go to hell ill go

I live on Utah its a very religious State (LDS church and stuff)
I'm not evil or anything, I'm not sure if theer is a god and it doesn't bother me but when people start asking and trying to push me to something, i get defensive... I'm not sure what is going to happen after i die doenst bother me either, I think that one is put to the earth to live, i feel like religion makes u feel like u need to live to die. Yes I went to church after my parents kept bothering me, i did not had a very good impression of it, people wre talking to each other while teh priest spoke. I don't insult people i dont digrade(how u spelt that?) them. I live my life to the fullest, I'm not bad or anything like it. I'm both good and evil. I live in i think one of the most religious state in the US and they dont seem to mind me, my friendsacept mr. I just felt unacepted by my parents. They stopped going to church sowhen they did so did i. I wasnt sure of the concept of god at age 8.

Nice, you put it right to your parents there didn't you? Man that's good because you know they probably have no concept of the way things really are! They were born 30 and just got older!!! They have never had angst...you should tell them you want to go to hell because that'll really fix their wagon.

I won't lecture you on what religion is the right one, because I know there is an argument for each one that says their religion is what you should believe. If your parents have a problem with your beliefs, of course they'll be upset. A lot of people have different perspectives on religion and beliefs. As you said, you're not hurting anyone, so maybe they will accept your beliefs eventually. If you don't have a true religion, I think you answered that question pretty honestly. I do have a religion, but I won't get started on anything. I hope I've helped.

You r at the age of consent in most states. Experiment, Find the church or group that gives you inner peace and brings you closer to your own version of GOD !!NO ONE should be forced to attend services. You can meditate and make peace and pray to your Creator anywhere you choose. An open pasture, aclosed closet,Anywhere YOU feel comfortable with you and your God of choice. I was raised Catholic.I dropped out 'cause I feel some of the heretical dogma they spout is pure BULLSHIT!! I have no particular affiliation with any church !! And I get along just great 'cause I am at Peace w/ my God and myself !! This may take a while, so be patient. Let your parents rave. This is still AMERICA and you do have choices !! God Bless, and BEST OF LUCK IN YOU R QUEST !!!!

The whole living day to day thing is so postmodernistic, ha ha. Okay, firstly, church isn't always a bad thing. Depending on where you are in the US, I could point you in the direction of heaps of awesome churches, which would be relevant to your age group and still be true to God. Secondly, what's "going around chanting what i think" got to do with going to church? People do that every day. And going to church doesn't mean you need to become a street evangelist. Thirdly, you really don't want to go to hell. Please believe me when I say that!!

Religion should be a personal choice. There's nothing wrong with admitting you don't know what's out there. There's nothing wrong with admitting you have an idea. The problem comes when your religious view makes you judge innocent people based on their religious beliefs. If you judge others as evil, sinful, damned, lost, etc because of your belief and you actively act upon those attitudes, you have become fanatical and should consider counseling.

Live a good life and remain Agnostic. None of us know for sure if an afterlife exists or not. Just be a good person.

I want you to know that God loves you - he offers you a personal invitation to come and follow him through his son Jesus.

If you want to learn more about Jesus start reading the bible - try starting at the New Testament, read a gospel - the gospels are the stories of Jesus's life when he was here on earth.

Jesus is so wonderful, so loving and faithful and strong - I hope that you meet him soon! :)

There shouldn't be a problem. You don't have to tell people what you believe (or don't believe) unless you want to. Good for you for standing your ground.

Please read The God Delusion, learn what makes religion work, and be free of it forever.
