How do I style my hair to get that 60's bouffant look?

I have very thick layered hair and i've tried to style my hair to get that poof on the crown of my head, but I failed miserably. I've tried teasing, but I think I may be doing it wrong. Anyways can anyone tell me in detail how to achieve that 60's style bouffant look?

Set it in very large rollers and then tease it. Teasing is not good for your hair, it results in split ends.

big rollers or drying upside down then take thin sections of hair in the area u want fullness and with a backcombing (teasing) comb slide it down toward the scalp. if you dont want to backcomb(tease) than there is a product by big sexy hair called what a tease-backcomb in a bottle. you spray it in the sections where you would backcomb then hit it with warm dryer for two seconds and it feels just like backcombing but will wash right out. it will give you that huge hair u desire. start with a little first. you can always add more. this works great when used correctly!!! almost better than teasing and way easier. ask your stylist about it, its a professional product and will need to be bought at a salon or beauty supply. good luck
