I consider myself a liberal Christian in many ways, although I don't ascribe to all the things that you have stated that a liberal Christian is.
I believe in:
Free will/choice--everyone has their own path and a right to choose it, be a light and others will follow.
Tolerance--to gay people, etc.
Peace--war is not the answer to everything
I don't codemn people and do not feel that I know who is going to hell or not, even those that the church may condemn.
I feel we can learn a lot from science and should not turn our backs from it.
I feel that Christians are VERY capable of nasty things, just like anyone else, and they are just as accountable, even if they feel they are saved.
I think diversity is beautiful...in religion, culture, etc.
I believe in protecting the environment wholeheartedly.
And I'm definetly NOT a Republican.
I suppose I am an atypical Christian...but I do know that Christ knows me well.

Let me see...
Prays only when necessary....
YOU SHOULD PRAY WITHOUT CEASING
Accepts in Evolution and the Big Bang
EVOLUTION DOESN'T MAKE SENSE AND THE BIG BANG HAPPENED! I JUST KNOW WHO BANGED IT!
Does not follow the church
YOU SHOULD BE PART OF A HEALTHY WELL BALANCED CHURCH
Has a liberal view of the Bible
LIBERAL VIEW OF THE BIBLE OFTEN "WATERS DOWN" MANY TRUTHS.
Does not condemn another person or believe in a Hell
HELL IS A REAL PLACE AND WE SHOULD AVOID IT!
Believes that God is everywhere but invisible throughout the universe
GOD IS SPIRIT, OMNIPRESENT, OMNISCIENT AND OMNIPOTENT.
Believes that heaven is just a concept to blind people
HEAVEN IS A REAL PLACE!
Believes in living life to the fullest.
CHRISTIANS ARE TO LIVE LIFE TO THEIR FULLEST ACCORDING TO GOD'S PURPOSE.

How can that be? By definition, a Christian believes in God, Heaven, and Hell because that's part of basic Christian theology.
A liberal Christian might accept evolution and the Big Bang, but within the framework of the Biblical Creation.
Moreover, the Bible states that we exist "to glorify" and "serve God," not to indulge in self-pleasing activities.
I think that your definition of "Christian" is more than a little distorted. Though we may all differ on many levels, there is undoubtedly an area of black and white where in order to be considered "Christian," one must act/believe in a certain way. What's more, we mustn't forget that Christianity does not exist to gratify humans - it exists because God exists, and God our Creator expects us to behave in a certain way as befitting his creation. That does not leave room for cutting-and-pasting or expurgating the unpleasantness of Hell/Heaven.
Also, Christians are not supposed to be belligerent warmongers, nor should they condemn others as sinners. Those who do so are hypocritical - we have all been hypocritical at one time or another (e.g., we ought to treat others the way we would want ourselves to be treated, but sometimes we don't). The Bible says that we are all sinners, that we ought to "love the sinner, hate the sin," and preaches pacifism.
When in doubt, turn to the Bible. The Bible should be the last Word on everything Christian because it is God's Word. Whether liberal or not, a Christian should believe in the complete truthfulness of the Bible. To doubt the Bible is to doubt God's Word.
P.S. Christians, too, have/believe in free will. We simply have moral principles of a certain sort. Having moral principles does not mean lacking free will. All people, including non-Christians, live their life by certain rules. For instance, it is against secular law to steal. Yet, people still have free will. They have the choice to steal, though it is unlawful to do so. The same applies to Christian principles.

No I am not. I am a born again Christian and I follow the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. I pray everyday, I believe evolution is a lie and I only believe in creation, I never follow a church, I only follow God's true words from the Holy Bible (KJV) 1611, I don't condemn people, I just witness to them, and yes, I do believe in hell, I know God is everywhere, Heaven is real, and not to just the blind, I don't live my life in pleasures of the flesh, but the way God wants me to live. AMEN!

What do you define as having a liberal view of the Bible?
I do not condemn people - I am not God. But I do believe in Hell.
God IS everywhere.
I believe in living life to the fullest, ie. living out all that God has planned for me.

conservatives dont live life to the fullest? If you wake up every day believing in God, and living towards that end, are you not living life to the fullest? (after a full life to a christian is fulfilling what God wants)?!

The person you describe here believes there is a God, but isn't a true Christian. That's not from my book, but from Jesus's book. Check out the gospel of John.

I think there are many Liberal Christians that would fit that discription if you took off the first one. It sounds like you think just because they are liberal they aren't close to God.

That fits my boyfriend to a tee, except the first one - as far as I know, he does pray everyday, not only "when necessary". I suppose other "True Christians" would call him a waffler for the other stuff.
