Drink a lot of water, this definitely helps, because I used to have really bad acne, I swear I've literally experienced all the different spots u can get.... Drinking water can help you stop getting that many spots, I learned that after I start drinking more water cos I use to don't drink that much water and after i started to drink mire water my skin has dramatically changed, and you don't even have to drink 8 cups of water to see the change! Another thing that you can do is to wash your face in the morning and at night, because this helps you clear up the dirt in your pores that you've been collecting all day. This prevents having more spots. I got to a stage where I had spots on my back and i went to see my GP about it and he gave me tetracycline which is an antibiotic, and it has stopped me from getting any more spots, but you will still get one or two during the month but that's normal for everyone who has their period. If you have the lumps one, do not touch it, as this may make it worse and it could cause scars. Another thing apart from drinking water is to eat more green veg, and less oily food as this will make you get more spots! I hope this help :)

What you have is an infection either of a hair follicle or a sweat gland, a super zit if you prefer. Since it is still hard underneath, it is not ready to drain just yet. There is nothing you can apply to the spot to make it go away, the only thing you can do is encourage it to come to a head as fast as you can. You need to remove all makeup first. Apply heat with a clean damp washrag, as hot as you can stand it, as often as you can stand it. A very hot steamy shower or a steam facial is also helpful. You will be increasing blood supply to the spot to help fight the infection, and as your body begins to win the war you will see a white spot form on the top. This may take a few days to happen, it won't happen tonight. Keep applying heat to the spot, and resist the urge to poke, prod or squeeze it. When it is ready it will drain all on it's own, without any help from you. If you squeeze it or poke it before it is ready to drain, you can rupture the spot under the skin and make things much worse. If you leave it alone and apply heat, it should be done with in 2-3 days or so. Don't apply any potions to it, no creams, no toothpaste or whatever. If you have tea tree oil, you can apply a drop of that to the top. When it begins to drain, you can apply gentle pressure to the area to encourage it to drain a little faster, but be careful not to be too agressive there. After it drains, a drop of tea tree oil to the spot will help it heal faster. The pain will also go away the minute it begins to drain. Also be careful to keep your hands very clean and don't touch other parts of the face after you touch the spot. You can spread the infection to other pores of your skin, making more of them. The facial wash didn't do it, it just happens sometimes. My teens get them like this on rare occasions, and this is the fastest way I know to deal with them. It's low tech, but it works and you won't end up with a really nasty spot afterwards, or a scar either.

If you have more than one, it's probably cystic acne, if not, it could be just a minor infection.
In the case of acne, you could 1) take birth control pills, which lessen the likelihood of the painful spots by maintaining hormone levels 2) use a topical medication such as retin A or benzaclyn (by prescription only) 3) take an oral antibiotic (again, you will need to see a doctor for a prescription.) 4) Use a mild, soap-free cleanser when washing your face so not to irritate your skin.
If you only have one spot, use a salicylic acid cream on it. You can just buy this at the store.
If it still hasn't gone away in a couple weeks, make an appointment to see your doctor.
Remember that old scary story our parents used to tell us...? Maybe a spider layed its eggs in your skin and baby spiders are growing inside you as we speak!
Haha! Only joking (hopefully!) Good luck
P.S. Don't squeeze or pick at it!

I so feel for you and if it any consolation I have EXACTLY the same thing as you right now - it was really aggrevated before I went to bed and I was going to try to pick it (but I know better than this! and anyway it didn't have a head so was pretty impossible). Best thing to do is try to avoid picking it if you can, or touching it even...
Then, treatments that I use are diluted tea tree in the morning, diluted lavender before bed, and witchazel stick whenever it is itchy or sore during the day.
Also, a foaming antibacterial wash is a great idea. It just makes your face feel really clean without being dry and even though it may make your face feel greasy, keep light moisturising as this is really important. Superdrug's or Body Shop's Tea Tree ranges are good, witchazel foaming wash also good. I try to chop and change them too which is better for your skin. Oh and if you can afford it Neals Yard Palmarosa face wash is all natural and VERY nice...
Anyway, this is just about one spot so I suppose that is way too much info. Hope that gets you started. And drink water - H2O so good for you. bottled if you can afford it. And lastly, don't stress, love your spot if you can (!) and it will go before you know it :)
Happy Sundays!

Make sure your bra isn't covering it, that can keep it from going away. I suggest buying Advanced Blemish Tteatment from Proactiv, you don't have to get the whole set but the Blemish treatment is a tiny tube of what you need. For me, I use it and in two days , whatever problem I had is gone. Put a SMALL amount of the spot before you go to sleep each night.

From boots I think you can get a "One Touch spot stick". It's a clear liquid that has tea tree in it. If you put some on before you go to bed and when you wake up in the morning it is great. As long as you don't rub it or mess with it the spot will go a lot quicker.
