Well let me start by saying that I have a great dog who ran away about 1 month ago. we're still looking, and I'm still hoping that I'm gonna find her. One of my neighbors gave me a puppy because his mom was going to go dump him somewhere if he couldn't get rid of him (HOW CRUEL) and he's just too adorable, I just feel as if I'm betraying my dog in a weird way. I'm afraid to get attached (hard not to), but the puppy deserves a great home, lots of love, attention and we CAN offer him that. Should I just take him to animal shelter or give up hope?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Help!!!

Keep the pup. When you find your dog, maybe she'll get used to having him around. Don't take him to animal shelter. He deserves a chance and a good home. Best of luck finding your dog!

That's so sad that your puppy ran away! I'm sure you miss her but it sounds like someone must have found her by now and is probably giving her a good home. Did you check the shelters and all?

As far as keeping this new puppy -- it isn't a betrayal. I'm sure your puppy would be glad that there are people out there that can give dogs the love and attention when they're in need.

Enjoy the new puppy and hope your other dog is well too.

I would keep the puppy,
you are not betraying your other dog and it could come back there are always amazing stories like that,
i hope you have your dog microchipped so if anyone takes it too a vet if they find it they will know who the owner is!
the pup deserves a good home and if you can provide it then thats excelent taking it to a shelter is horrible and if they don't find a home for it, it could get put down! KEEP LOOKING AND GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

I think you did the right thing by taking this puppy in. Would you be able to live with two dogs if/when your dog is found? This is the most important thing. If the answer is yes then: Keep him, enjoy him, and most of all love him for what he is - an individual. Don't feel guilty...people go through that when they loose a pet, they try not to get too attached for fear of getting hurt.

Keep the puppy ... There is a reason for all that happens in our life..

After a month you may have to come to the realization that your other dog is not able to get home to you or he would have by now... and the puppy was brought into your life to ease your pain over the loss of your beloved pet....

GOOD LUCK
