The girl I'm interested in is just nine months younger so this doesn't apply to me. But I see a lot of questions about ridiculous age differences like twenty, thirty, or even forty years. Age isn't just a number to me. It's a rough sign of your development and experience, except in the rare case when you're extremely mature. I don't respect men who go out with girls half their ages and I certainly don't respect guys who go out with underage girls, even if nothing sexual is involved (and in more cases than you think, something sexual IS involved, like a fifteen-year-old girl I knew who had a boyfriend five years older and admitted to having 'heavy foreplay' with him a year earlier). Yes, sometimes women do tend to go out with younger guys, but that's a rarer trend, and women are rarely after sex the way men are.

Me, I'd never go out with someone more than a year older or younger.

Rose unfortunately guys like your boyfriend are the ones I'm talking about. I would never go out with an eighteen-year-old girl at twenty-seven, when I'm a developed full-grown matuer man and she's still a teen who's just reached legal age! I would be secure enough to go out with someone my own age or at least in my own age range. I think the guy is a raging pervert. Sowwee.

*mature

And if I had younger girls want to date me I'd kindly explain why nothing could ever happen.

It really depends on how old you are. Let's say you're twenty, and you like a girl who is eleven. That's just plain gross. But let's say you're forty, and that same girl is thirty one. It doesn't seem as bad anymore.

My boyfriend is 9 years older than me, we started dating when I was 18 and he was 27. We have been together for 2 years now. I do think there are more important issues than age when it comes to compatability, however age does have some impact. I don't think I would date anyone over 10 yrs. older, but I tend to like older guys rather than guys my own age. I think it has to do with the fact that physically, guys mature later, a guy over 25 is usually more attractive than one younger. Also, I feel more protected, and my bf just seems to know a lot about the world which I dont know, and I appriciate this.

Ok. I think the real thing to worry about is maturity. If your 18 then 16 is tops. If your past college (22-25) then 18 is tops. And if your past 30 nothing less than 25 should be what you're interested. 25 because most people have graduated, develop careers and are well grounded with who they are.

i think totally depends on how old the person in qns is ...the younger a person is ( under 21 ) their partner shud be ard the same age as them + / - one yr or 2 yrs ...however once hit 21 yrs old i think the age gap can be widen a bit till like +/- 5 to 7 yrs ...n then once a person is 25 n above ..i dont think age really matters at this stage at all .....

I don't think you can generalize in either direction. It all depends on the love and compatibility between the two people involved. Obviously, this doesn't apply to minors, but after adulthood it's the choice of the two people involved.

You are entitled to your own opinion.

My wish is to find someone who is at least 2 years than myself.
