God loves you so much, He let His son died for your sins, so you can go to heaven. He loves you even if you don't love him back. You're not alone.

Jesus Christ's crucifixtion is one of hope He took your sins and everyone else's upon Himself and He said that we would suffer but it wont be forever.

Knowing that our Lord and Saviour went through the agonising pain and torment of crucifixion, and dying for us, helps us remember that He is the living God (as the cross is empty from his resurection) and that we will, fortunately, never feel the pain He did when he was suffering, as at that time, He had the whole weight of the worlds sins, past and to come, on his shoulders

For those of us christians who suffer at anytime in our life Jesus' crucifiction teaches us not to lose faith in times of desperation.

If Jesus had not died on the cross we would still live by the old testament, bound by rules and regulations that we could not follow. When Jesus came to earth he learnt this;

Luke 23:34
"... Father forgive them for they know not what they do..."

Hence Jesus' suffering and death gives us salvation, i.e sets us free from our sins. We no longer have to follow a set of rules and regulations as outlined in the old testament, to gain favour, as jesus did everything we needed to be right by God by simply dieing on the cross.

To many people, Christians and those of other faiths alike, any story of anybody bravely facing adversity helps provide comfort when facing adversty as well.

The actual part about His crucifiction doesn't EVEN begin to matter nearly as much as when he reportely said "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do" which is when many people whom I have witnessed in adversity realize that even with whatever amount of adversity they might be going through, that they CAN rise above the adversity and find ways to be kind to someone else, even their enemies.

In Scripture it says that for anyone to give up his/her life for another- there is no greater love. Jesus did this for us. I don't believe he was held to ransom by God though, since Jesus is God, but accepted the punishment of the Romans at the time. I don't believe that God ever intended suffering in the world, but Satan tempted Adam & Eve and here we are We can offer up our sufferings to Jesus, knowing that he suffered and knows how we feel. It can be turned in some way. Jesus healed those who were suffering, it does not always happen in this life but we are assured that as Jesus rose to new life after death, so will we.

Jesus has suffered far worse than them and understands human suffering completely. He never stopped believing in God, His Father, and after He rose from the dead and ascended into heaven He sent the Holy Spirit to aid and comfort those who believe in him.

It doesnt, its the christians belief in his death.
They believe that he died for their sins and as such thay will go to heaven. He died thousands of years ago and they are still to comit some sins. He died for those sins aswell?
Religion is using Jesus to support its form of insanity, do as you will and when you go to heaven God will forgive you.
Do everything to help others but because you dont believe in God you go to hell.
Jesus was nailed to the cross and took all our sins with him. I dont believe a word of it but hey thats only a sin and he died for it. I'm now a murderer and let somebody else pay for my sins. I didnt ask him to but he says thats why he was going to the cross so all the christians belive him. So now I'm a double sinner along with everyone else.
Oh no wait a minute it was only the sins of the believers he was taking to the cross. I'm an athiest so that lets me off the hook and I dont have any sins.
You are all going to hell I havent sinned but dont believe in god so I'm just going to limbo. Thats better than hell.
Now Christians who were suffering at the time where being brutalized and tormented. Some where taken to Rome and fed to the lions. Jesus was crucified and after that the christians where brutalized and tormented and more where taken to Rome to be fed to lions.
Yup Jesus being crucified changed everything.

Because He suffered also. His suffering paid the price of our sins so that we can spend eternity in Heaven with Him, where there is no more pain or tears.

God who gave us this life, can also give eternal life, just like even Jesus who suffered came back alive, if we believe in Him and follow Him we will too. Who else has this authority? Can any one else have control over our birth and death except God?

He stayed obedient.

Even when we suffer, the primary thing is to still put our trust in God and obey him.

Everything turned out really well in the end, don't cha think?
