In spirituality, the person never left alone. At times of odds, he/she may take refuse under the shadow of god. They continue, their life's journey with a belief that god will come to their rescue some where in future. But it is not so with materialists. They strongly believe, people are the masters of their own fate. If they face any set back, they keep them-selves responsible for the failure and go into depression,or they incline to sedatives to forget their failure. After considering both, personally I feel Spirituality is the best way.

The human being is a paradox. We are both a
physical, and spiritual being.
The First Law of the Universe is the Divine
Paradox. That our world is but an illusion compared to the vastness of the spirit world.
Nevertheless, it is still REAL.
We must provide for both our material and spiritual needs to be fulfilled.
Like Casy Kasem used to say on the American
show TOP 40. "Keep your feet on the ground, and keep reaching for the Stars!"

Life or consciousness is the symptom of the spirit soul.
If the spirit soul leaves the body no matter what amount of chemicals one puts in the body those materials of chemicals are not going to produce life. Therefore, spirit soul is the basis of life and not matter.

The purpose of human life is to gain spirituality. However we need to survive physically and in a healthy mind and healthy body. So to that extent, and no more than that, materalism is needed.

Life is actually spiritual. Materialism is just a smokescreen that hides our real needs.

To find 'god' on your own. Not listening to some old book or crazy scienctists. Meditation and entheogenic substances are the key to finding tru meaning.

The source of Existence is Light.
When you crack open an atom, Light is revealed.
When you Awaken to Awareness, Light is revealed.
If materialism refers to the atom, then "no, it isn't materialism"
If spirituality refers to the personal experience of the transcendent, then "no, it isn't spirituality."
But, if spirituality refers to the trancendent itself- if it refers to the Light, then "it is spirituality."
To take it further is to enter word games.
