My hair is naturally dark brown, my hair has been died black in the last year or so. I want to go back to a medium brown what should I expect?

Why don't you let it grow back to the normal color? When you dye it you don't know exactly what you're going to get. Depends on the dye, depends on how much or little of it that you use. Ususally the natural colors are the most becoming. Sometime dye makes your hair harder to manage; stiffens it some. What about a few highlights if you want to brighten it up a little. If you don't like it; it won't stay around very long.

I have been through this before. Get some really light brown hair dye, a few bottles of it. After the first hair dye, you may still find that it's too dark. Wait a few days and add the other dye The light brown dye helps it get lighter from black. Trust me, it works. Only took a week to get it back to brown

If your hair was recently dyed black, are you just going to let it fade out back to your original medium brown color? If so, it should be the same way it was before you dyed it =] Just keep washing it'll gradually keep fading- unless of course it's permanent dye that you used.
