RBC are red blood cells with a life span of around 120 days,The importance of them is that they carry Hemoglobin & hb is carrier for oxygen. Total count of RBc are in range of 4-5 mill /cubic ml . ( more than this is not normal & is lebelled as polycythemia ) The RBC Reduction lead to anemia. to increase ur RBC & Hb one shud eat lots of green leafy vegitables & fruits rich in iron like mango ,papya, spinach ,apple etc.Platelet r not directly related with eating habits ,They are produced on intrensic body functions & apart from if one is suffering from low platelet count like in thromoccyopenia no need to increase the normal platelet count present in blood.

You first need to know the reason for the anemia and thrombocytopenia...the anemia can be caused by a wide range of things from dietary defiencies, medications, chronic infection, bleeding and malignancies. It is necessary to determine the cause before you can effectively approach a remedy. Consult a physician to set up the appropriate testing to determine the primary etiology of the anemia. Thrombocytopenia as well has many causes from certain medications, malignancies to name a few as well as some circumstances which are deemed idiopathic(no known cause). Some cases are self limiting, others need pharmaceutical intervention. Depending upon what the cause of the anemia actually is there are a number of approaches that are effective: iron deficiency can be treated by dietary supplement, chronic infective causes are generally resolved once the infection has been secured, anemia secondary to malignancy and/or its treatment can be treated by erythrypoetin(sp), or procrit..this also is effective with anemia due to renal failure which causes anemia due to low levels of natural occuring erythrypoetin. The bottom line is that first the cause of the anemia and/or thrombtocytopenia
must be determined before effective treatment can be initiated...see an MD.
