I like Canon. Nothing against other brands. I’ve just a long history of personal experience and preference with Canon. They have an awesome line of cameras that can fit any kind of budget.

Canon has an awesome line that can fit the bill. Consider the PowerShot models, the A460, A550/A560 and A630/A640. Or check out the SD____ models. Here is a link Canon’s cameras: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ProductCatIndexAct&fcategoryid=113

I have a Canon PowerShot A620 which I purchased new online last Spring. My favorite feature of this model is the vari-angle display/LCD screen. It protects the screen when not in use, and helpful for odd angle shots. But now they have an updated version the A630 and A640. Here is a review and its features (see the vari-angle screen), up close and personal:

Here is where I go to shop for the best price for digital cameras. Just type in your camera model in the ‘search keyword’: http://lowpricedigital.com/category.asp?master_category_Id=1000 Buy soon or check daily, for prices changes daily amongst merchants. Also check to make sure the camera is ‘new’ or ‘refurbished’.

If you’d rather buy from the store, check the usual places, Best Buy, Circuit City, Wal-Mart, Target, and camera stores. Even consider Office Max, Office Depot, CostCo/Sam’s
Club---any store with a camera department.

Decisions! Decisions!

In that price area go with Canon. If you add $20 to $25 to it there's quite a few Canons to choose from. For many years now Canon=quality, Kodak hasn,t been.

I'd prefer Canon over Kodak. Why not consider Nikon Coolpix series as long as you need a compact digital camera?

Better to switch to canon. Canon's cameras a lot better then the kodak one. Kodak's C643 size is just about the same with Canon Power shoot A550.

I HAVE A KODAK EASY SHARE C743. I LOVE IT, BUT MY AUNT HAS A CANON THAT TAKES GREAT PICTURE, TOO. I DON'T KNOW THE MODEL, THOUGH. IT'S ONE OF THE MORE EXPENSIVE ONES, AND IT COMES WITH A CHARGER. (NOT ALL OF THEM DO) THE VIDEOS COME OUT GOOD, BUT NOT REALLY ANY BETTER THAN MY KODAK. ONE THING WITH THE VIDEOS THOUGH, THE LIGHTING ON THE CANON IS USUALLY BETTER THAN THE KODAK, WHICH TENDS TO LOOK DARK OR HAVE MORE OF A SEPIA TONE. I GOT THE 743 TO REPLACE THE OTHER KODAK EASY SHARE I HAD THAT WAS STOLEN. MY AUNT HAD BOUGHT IT FOR ME AND I DIDN'T WANT HER TO KNOW SO I HAD TO GET THE 3X ZOOM AGAIN INSTEAD OF THE 5. BUT ALL IN ALL IT'S A GREAT CAMERA.

Canon has a better lens, but its that much more expensive. You might consider the Panasonic which is in between as far as cost goes, and is quite good as far quality goes.
Then again I've had a Kodak for the last 3 years, no problem for those quick party snaps.

Canon's a lot better. Take a look at the Powershot A630, it's only $215 at B&H and it's got almost all the goodies except IS for a great price.

I have always had samsung cameras and have never had any problems with them, the one via that website was popular over Xmas as it had sold out everywhere. I was going to buy it but ended up buying a different samsung one. My parents have a Kodak which is OK but I think the picture is better on the samsung.
