Find another church. Good luck, though. There are alot of heresies creeping into most churches having pastors who are sold-out to new-age doctrines. Myself, I don't go anymore.

We're not vile people bent on breaking as many of the Ten Commandments in as short a time as we can, that's why.
We have our flaws, but we aren't like Satan.

And most people repent their sins. It isn't our motive to go against God at every chance we get (at least... not most of us.) We sin, yes; but we don't live for the sake of sinning.

In short: the Nobel Prize exists, that should back up what your pastor says quite nicely.

Man is not totally depraved is false statement because man is bound to do bad things either by coincidental or accidental. By nature man is a sinner
It was prophesied by the prophet that Jesus be nailed to the cross for death to sacrifice for our sins. Because of this things happened to Jesus sinners should repent of their sins and will not ccommit sin anymore (supposed to be) but because man is bound to c ommit sin, man could not control his emotions in his desirous emotions to attend to his desires before attaining to God

I would need to know more details about what he was saying to make an intelligent appraisement of the comment. Just to be fair.
