Here is my opinion:
Banning Religious conversion is normally associated with infringing into the religious freedom. But in India, conversions are forced on minorities, mainly by providing money and other material comforts.
We should convert a person from a stressfull, depressed, low-esteemed person to a high-esteemed, able and self contented human being with out asking for anything in return - instead of forcing them to change the outer label of religion as return.
Conversions in India are more or less inspired by a religious group ego - to add more people to the religion - instead of really helping them out of poverty and difficult conditions.

When a person changes his religion, it creates a lot of frustruation and conflict with in his mind, and it creates communal and social divides. If a hindu cannot find the divine through Hinduism, he cannot find it through Christianity or Islam - and vice versa.
Also, India is the only remaining Hindu country in the world - I am not talking about Hindu religion and related rituals and symbols - but I am talking about the real values of Hinduism and Sanathana Dharma - which is from where the whole value system in the world has emerged. Sanathana Dharma is the only culture which emphasizes values like selfless service, caring and sharing, 'Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavanthu' (let the whole world be happy) etc.
Sanathana Dharma proclaims that if one religion is true, all religions are true - because the true nature of Divine is all en-compassing conciousness - which fills you and me, and the true nature of divine is love.

Hence, Jesus will bless a good Hindu than a bad Christian, and Allah will bless a good Christian than a bad Muslim, and Krishna will bless a good Muslim than a bad hindu.
Can we think aloud to spread the message of true love?

Answer to David's question..
"What ever I do to realize myself, to uplift the entire spirit of the world, to spread love and joy, is Good. What ever I do to satisfy my ego is bad. If I say Christ is great because I understand his principles and he is the realized one, is good. If I say Christ is great because I am a Christian, then it is bad."
