I want to work out my arms, I already get a lot of various running in, while doing PE at school, and different sports after school with friends. I wanted to work out my arms by doing pushups. Is it necessary to skip days? Or can I do push ups 2-3 times a day with no off days?

The other half my body, i would assume you mean my legs? I work them out everyday by doing what I would normally do, play sports, continuously for hours, along with running in PE, I have decent legs and don't think there is a need for it.

What about push-ups one day, situps the other? how do you correctly do situps/crunchs, for abs? what should i be doing to work out my abs?

It's Best to Rest the body (Every other day), your muscles will develop without becoming too tired!

If you are eating and drinking correctly as well you will notice the muscles working more efficiently!
Over working muscle sets just increases the lactic acid and aching within the tissue

You really should take time off, the muscles need t recuperate from the workout. It may be better to do more stretching and floor like exercises, things that lengthen the muscles like yoga and this will also make the muscles more flexible and look better which is what you are after. Good luck. Always warm up and down with each workout, you don't want to hurt yourself. Also, over time it can cause wear and tear problems with your joints when you work out so much, that's why yoga or martial arts will put less pressure on the joints. The older you get the more the stress of those repeated workouts will affect you in this negative way.

The easiest way to explain this is to say "training days and growth days". Your muscles grow bigger and stronger in the days you rest those muscles, it is essential and can not happen if you DON'T rest. That is why people get sore if they don't take days off training or what ever they are doing, the body can not heal and work at the same time.

So go ahead and work out every single day, but don't expect to get results very fast.

And I have two words that you must keep in mind MUSCLE BALANCE! You have to work the muscles opposite to what you want to train, muscle inbalance will make you weaker, look funny and confuse your body.

Remember too, if you don't have enough protein in your diet, it won't matter what you do, your muscles can improve without the building blocks.

Oh yes, push-ups are not a good choice to make your arms big, done properly they target your chest, shoulders, biceps and triceps. If you want bigger biceps, you need to target them, like curls.

Skip days.

Even Olympic athletes take at least 1 day of rest each week.

You must allow your body time to recover.

Want to diet down for the summer? Every other day is good. However, it really depends on how intense your workout session is. More intensity will mean longer rest periods.

Top half of your body one day, and the lower half the next. This method allows you to work out every day because it allows one half to be at rest while working out the other half.
