ABSOLUTELY! I have been around for almost 47 years and can definately tell you that things are much more immoral these days than 30 years ago. All one has to do is turn on the TV and I am shocked at all the sexual content and the bad language. Sure bad things happened years ago, but now they happen more often. Just go to wallbuilders.com and you can see the charts that demonstrate what has happened to our Country after we removed prayer from our schools.

There is always a distribution of morality. When we make a comparison with time, we may most often feel some thing is declining. This is entropy. World will continue to move towards chaos. Then there will be a break down and a new order will be born.
Don't compare morality with what you knew it to be ten or twenty years ago. Compare it with what was supposed to have been the norm a hundred years ago. The picture will be clearer.

I don't think that there is. There is a decline in old rules of etiquette, and proper use of the English language (come back and read some of the questions on here) but by and large people tend to be less suspicious of people's differences, more respectful of their life choices, there is even a shift in the level of suspicion people have about each other's motives. I really don't thing that there is any change in moral decline, I think certain views shift (we have relaxed views on bad language but stricter views on prejudice). In general, people see themselves and their needs reflected in other people and work to exist in peace in society. Most people just try to make it through the day.

No, I think that society as a whole is changing and things that were once considered morally wrong aren't so bad anymore because they could be worse. I mean - think about it - back in the day even Christian women used to cover themselves head to toe so men wouldn't be tempted. We've come a long way from that. If you look back in history you'll see periods of staunch morality and then periods of looser morals. It goes in cycles.

i don't think of we are experiencing an ethical decline in any respect because I evaluate "moral decline" as a marginally pointed religious oriented question. the topic matters of moral decline is amazingly who's promotion the concept of decline and who's earning earnings off it. usually, one unearths out that whoever is an advise of the concept that there is moral decline is both religous followers, political action comittees, and the mass media which makes funds off a number of those warm button subject matters. i don't have self belief both that there is a cultural decline, because our u . s . has immigrants from global. those immigrants carry their own subculture with them, it truly is our potential in accepting all of them and having them meld into our universal subculture without destroying their human being ethnic subculture. What looks as a decline, in various respects, is a false impression of what our u . s . particularly stands for; accepting human beings from different international locations for what they are (except obviously for extremist), having them stay and artwork and practice their beliefs without discrimination see you later because it does no longer intervene or phyically threaten someone elses existence.

Well the biggest "moral decline" mostly comes from those that throw morality in other people's face. I am talking about the likes of Newt Gingrich, Ronald Regan, and Rudy Giuliani.......

It's all about the hypocricy of so-called religious people, judging everyone else to be immoral when they should be looking in the mirror when they do the judging.
But again... that's if the "society" you're speaking of is that of the United States.. I can't speak for the rest of the world.

I think every civilized, recorded society and culture has had a period of "moral decay" according to the people in power at that particular time.

The crimes based on religion are coming up slightly but generally no.
However your government, business and religious leaders are capable of larger and more dramatic examples of corruption because of increased power and the concentration of that power. This means that when they do get caught out in the open the stink is bigger.

Yes; if you read between the lines it's as clear as can be. Turn on the television; it will dance right in front of your face with an enjoyable facade.
