She is manifestation of Mahasarswati, the Great Goddess of Knowledge.

Saraswati is goddess of music, art, intelligence, kindness and spirituality. She represents the Satoguna (attribute of pure light)

She is worshipped by beej mantra "Aum Aim Saraswatye Namah"
