If we're going to start wishing then I wish there was more oil in the US so we wouldn't to police the entire middle east. Let them continue their own suicide.

Darfur does have oil and natural gas. In fact control of this is the reason driving the genocide.
Besides - Europe created the mess in Darfur, they can clean it up.
Trivia note: Sudan has signed lucrative oil deals with China and France in return for those countries vetoing any effective UN action.

Darfur in the Sudan does have oil and natural gas. That's what the whole thing is about. The Sudanese muslims control the north which is mostly sand and brushland, the Christians spot control the south which is more farmable and has oil and natural gas reserves, as well as a few DIamond mines, with many more suspected.

The reason the UN is not in Sudan now, is that Countries have to agree to allow UN Peacekeepers enter their country.
The Sudan has refused all outside peacekeepers, except the African Union Peacekeepers which are funded by the United States.
The Security Council could bring the Sudan up under Article Seven of the UN Charter.
And forcefully intervene.
But, then that means the Security Council members would have to supply UN Peacekeeping Soldiers.
Also, intervening in a civil war in the Sudan, would make it impossible for those Countries against the continued American and British intervention in Iraq's civil war, to be taken seriously.
How could they say its ok to send soldiers to protect innocents in a civil war in the Sudan, but not ok to do so in Iraq.
Politicians are already looking hypocritical for their support for the illegal intervention in Serbia and Kosavo's civil war, and being against continued support in Iraq.
Politicians have now painted themselves into a corner, no country or group of countries can now, intervene in any civil war, without that countries permission and UN approval.
That's an Unintended Consequence of the Iraq War.

No, i wish that all the countries that scream racism would help instead of complain.
I wish muslim countries would show some leadership here too, since in this case islam is the banner under which the killing is being done

Oh, but wait - y'all don't want the US to 'police' the world. So why should we start another humanitarian project such as that?
Especially considering that Saddam also committed genocide?
