Have you tried taking benadryl capsules at night, you can take one and if it doesn't work take another. That is 25 mg. each. Take at night because it can make you sleepy, also take it early enough so you can wake up without feeling a hangover, though this gets better over time. This should help. Also, you can take the caps and open them up and mix a small amt. of water with the powder and put on any itchy areas, it should help. I use for insect bites and bee stings. It is an antihistamine. The pharmacist can tell you if it will react with any medication you may be on also. Then look on a natural treatments website, like I have read Neem oil which is from a natural food store, also oatmeal bath, put oatmel in a cloth bag tied up and put into bath water and use to scrub skin gently. Also, cool compresses. It seems everyone is different and have different opinions. I have heard the cause is a yeast infection and that is cured by taking oregano oil...this is a homeopathic treatment. Look it up. It's related to candida. Good luck.

The cause of eczema is not known but aggravating factors include hands that are in constant contact with soap and water, harsh household products and some vegetable juices. If a physician does not specify a particular regimen, Arbonne has some recommendations that might alleviate some of your discomfort. The ABC (Arbonne Baby Care) line is the most gentle and perfect for skin conditions as it is the most sensitive, pure, safe, and beneficial. They have a wash, lotion, body oil, etc. that are botanically-based and pH correct, dermatologist tested, non-sensitizing, non-irritating, and formulated without nut oils. They're formulated with shea butter which is a unique botanical that soothes, moisturizes and protects skin. With its key components of vitamin A and E, all types of skin (including sensitive) can benefit from shea butter’s supreme, conditioning effects. Its non-toxic makeup and skin-tolerable trait make it ideal for use on sensitive skin. They also have a great intelligence conditioning oil and rejuvenating cream that can be used whenever you feel it's necessary to relieve the discomfort and itching. I would be happy to send you a free sample to try it out if you would be open to giving it a try.

Buy some Aquaphor (or you can use vaseline, but I find it to be a little greasy) and apply it to all your affected skin. Then, wear a simple, breathable cotton glove.
Do this each night before you go to bed. If it starts getting scratchy later, and it's conveniant for you to do so, you can wear the glove over the Aquaphor-covered hand for several hours during the day, as well.
You should see results within a couple days. My eczema was so bad and caused so much cracking and inflammation I literally could not bend my fingers. My doctor prescribed this treatment to me and I was able to use my hand the next day. Good luck!

I have the same problem, and I HATE it. I buy Aveeno with Hydrocortisone. Whenever they start itching and getting bad I use it like lotion. It's like $5 for a small tube, but it's the only thing I've found that works halfway decently. I don't know if it's good to use Hydrocortisone on a regular basis, but it helps so I'm sticking with it for now.

I feel your pain. I sometimes get a patch of it along the side of my palms and was at a loss. There are two things that I use that help me...maybe they will you. I use Burts Bees hand cream, at night I use it plus (now don't laugh) Desitin ointment (yeah the same stuff for baby butts LOL) I coat my hands with it and then put a pair of cotton gloves on. I wake up the next morning, no more itching no more oozy yucky skin...

I have the exact same problem except it's everywhere - scalp, hands, back, aghhh! Anyway, I found this awesome cream at Whole Foods and it WILL work. I've been using their products for 3 years now and everyone I recommend it to says it worked for them.
