I have the mdl 10 heavy barrel M&P revolver. Fine old gun. If I was still carrying a .38 cal. revolver for a duty weapon, it's the one I'd have.
The new semi auto pistol I've only had occassion to fire twice. Nice handling semi auto. Decent accuracy. Should be a good valule for the money.

S&W military & police is a line of there products, it does not mean that only military or police are the only one who can buy them. This designation, up until last year was a revovler line, Model 10 k frame chambered in 38 spl. Now they have recently released a auto chambered in 40 cal and 9mm.

I have owned the M&P model 10 and got a lot of enjoyment from it, it was accurite and dependable. I have never fired the new auto so I cant say much about it, however S&W is a very respected brand name and they wouldnt put it on the market if it wasnt dependable. If I would not hesitate on purchasing one if you like how it feels in your hands.

Years ago I did and must say it was a very good shooting weapon.
If I had a good price on one, I would definitely buy it from my past experience.
I had one for about 6 years and never had any trouble out of it what so ever.
If you got a good deal jump on it.
That my opinion.
